I have the wallch program configured to refer to a large directory of images and to change the image every twelve hours. I find that after every reboot, wallch reverts to its default behavior of showing images from a small built-in set, with a much smaller interval. To get the intended behavior, after every reboot I need to open the wallch window, change the "Interval" to 12 hours, then click the "Next" button, to get it to immediately choose an image from my folder. Then everything is fine, until the next reboot.

How can I get consistent behavior across reboots? I'm using Ubuntu 20.04.

If it matters, the default set of images is the same one I see when I open Ubuntu's "Settings" interface, in the "Background" tab. Also, wallch is set to be run at startup, if that wasn't clear.

where can i find Wallpaper clock saved as a .wcz file.

All the links I find point to "vladstudios" but are broken.

My goal is to be able to use the clock with wallch which then needs a .wcz file.

Or is there a description somewhere, how I create a clock / file myself

Directing Wallch to My Pictures and rotate every X mn, I want to preserve my SSD from this directory to be constantly updated along the day by files that are several Megs each. Yet I disabled Walch's thumb cache at .cache/wallch. I'm afraid there is no way to prevent update of .config/wallch/History.conf, but this one is a very little file so I hope constant update won't overwear my ssd. .cache/wallpaper is the remaining question.

Wallch has a little circular button on the top left which changes the wallpaper when clicked but it's covering the x button. How can I move it from there (maybe to bottom right) or, if this is not possible, how do I remove the button? I looked in the preferences.

I have been using the wallpaper changing utility Wallch for quite some time and very happy with the experience.

But recently the utility has started giving some trouble.

No matter what I do, the frequency of changing the wallpapers always resets to the minimum value (10 secs) automatically.
