I am trying to connect to my oracle database. I can't get the listener started. Here is what I have tried.
$ lsnrctl start

$ cat ./admin/tnsnames.ora
# TNSNAMES.ORA Network Configuration File: # /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/network/admin/tnsnames.ora # EXTPROC_CONNECTION_DATA.test = (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC)) ) (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = DEVDB) (PRESENTATION = RO) ) ) DEVDB = (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = localhost)(PORT = 1521)) ) (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVICE_NAME = DEVDB.test) ) ) DEBDB.test = (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = DEVDB.test)(PORT = 1521)) ) (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVICE_NAME = DEVDB.test) ) )
$ hostname
test
Here is an example of a successful start on an other machine with similar set up. No listner.ora file just tnsnames.ora.

You have empty
HOST=
in your listener.ora. I would edit it to beHOST=my.ip.address
. EvenHOST=127.0.0.1
will do if the application is on the same host. Did you runnetca
properly earlier (which is recommended for beginners)?Change line from
to
