Why isn't httpd working?

  • -1

I have just uninstalled Litespeed with the code below, but am getting an error when I try to start Apache through httpd. What can I do?

Here's the commands I used:

root@s15430558 [~]# /usr/local/lsws/admin/misc/uninstall.sh

WARNING:

All sub directories under "/usr/local/lsws"
created during installation will be removed!
However, conf/ and logs/ can be optionally preserved.
If you want to preserve any file under the other sub-directories created
by installation script, please backup before proceeding.

Manually created sub-directories under "/usr/local/lsws"
will not be touched.

Server High Logical Volume

  • 0

I have just been looking at the sizes of various partitions in my server and I see that it states;

/dev/xvda1 3.7G 2.9G 792M 79% /
/dev/mapper/vg00-usr 26G 3.7G 23G 14% /usr
/dev/mapper/vg00-var 72G 43G 30G 60% /var
/dev/mapper/vg00-home
                       17G 5.3G 12G 32% /home
none 512M 4.5M 508M 1% /tmp

Is it bad to have such big logical volumes? My var section has been used for 43GB!

My server disk space is 300GB, if I keep getting notices saying: Drive Warning: /dev/vg00/var (/var) is XX% full and I keep having to extend the partitions, then my available disk-space will rapidly decrease.

Anything I can do about this or is it something I've got to get used to and buy more disk-space?

Answers much appreciated,

James

/var and /home folders clogged up on cPanel (Linux)

  • 1

Recently the /var and /home folders have been clogging up on my server and I received a 'critical error' email saying that the /home folder was 100% full. I managed to fix it using the LVExtend command but I was just wondering how I can find out what was clogging the directories up? Are there logs of some sort?

I have a dedicated server w/ root access so I have full control. What can I do to prevent this from happening again as it's already happened twice?

Thanks,

James
