How do I run S.M.A.R.T on a server with 2 hard drives in RAID1?
I tried:
smartctl -i -d /dev/sda
smartctl -i -d /dev/sdb
smartctl -i -d /dev/md1
but get this error:
smartctl 5.40 2010-07-12 r3124 [x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu] (local build)

mdraid devices are no hardware thus you cannot use SMART with them.
