I've been fighting this for a few days now and could really use some help from the community. This started out as a failure to install windows updates on a Server 2016 Datacenter, which led to indications that there was an issue with CBS store corruption. SFC /ScanNow comes back clean, dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth shows that the component store is repairable. CheckHealth

Running dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:WIM:C:\temp\install.wim:1 /LimitAccess /Loglevel:4 eventually fails with Error: 0x800f081f. Source WIM

For reference install.wim:1 is confirmed as the Windows Server 2016 Datacenter wim, from Microsoft's portal. Wim Index Verification

Attempting the repair without specifying a source results in an almost more unusual Error: 14 "Not enough storage is available to complete this operation."; the OS drive has 44 GB of space free. Error 14

The dism.log doesn't seem to have much of value, but CBS.log has "Failed to download updates [HRESULT = 0x8007000e - E_OUTOFMEMORY]" which on the Timeline matches the Error 14.

These appear to be my culprits, but I cannot find these in the winsxs directory on a brand new Server 2016 that I have also attempted to use as the source for the repair.

I'm not sure what else to try, Microsoft's documentation on this is running me in circles saying that sfc and DISM are the answer.

I've Googled all over the place on how to remove the built in Windows 10 Apps like 3D Builder, Zune, Xbox, etc from a Windows 10 image file.

All of the tutorials always point to the same thing - Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage - which is what I'm trying to do.

Whenever I try to remove the package, I always get a The System cannot find the file specified error.

This is the output I'm getting from mounting the image until I try to remove the package.

Trying to remove individual packages or the whole shebang gives me the same result.

I must be missing something but just can't work out what I'm missing. I've also tried doing the same thing with DISM and run into the same error, system cannot find the specified file.

The Get-AppxProvisionedPackage finds the packages, so they exist... Any ideas on how to remove these?

So I would like something other than toggling the feature with PowerShell and check for changes in the dism command's output. Hopefully there's a better way... :)

I have a Hyper-V VM that will not boot, bluescreening saying PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

I can boot into WinPE (recovery), but cannot boot in safe mode.

Is it possible to run DISM from WinPE, and do a restorehealth command on the installed Windows Image?

My Dell server came preinstalled with 2008 R2 Standard. I upgraded to Enterprise to take advantage of more than 32GB RAM. This server is purely for dev and testing, so I want to use my MSDN product key for the upgrade.

I originally tried to uprade using the MSDN Enterprise key, but it wouldn't have it:

I tried several things, including changing the current product key to the MSDN one. Eventually I used a KMS generic key which can be found in several technet forum posts.

dism  /online /Set-Edition:ServerEnterprise /ProductKey:[KMS Generic Key]

... and this appeared to work. I then changed the product key again (using the control panel) to the MSDN key, thinking that was the end of the matter. Only later when tried to start up VMs did I realise I only had 4GB of usable RAM. I didn't make the connection with the licensing changes at this point and went off on a wild goose chase of BIOS settings, memory configurations and the like. Only later when I saw this...

...did I make the connection and reapply the KMS Generic key - which gave me all the RAM back. But now I have a system that isn't properly licensed, presumably I won't be able to activate it as it is, so I've got 2 days to enjoy it. With the MSDN key applied, only 4GB RAM is usable. Is there a way round this without

a) rebuilding the server from scratch with the MSDN key from the start or b) buying a retail Enterprise license
