This has happened from time to time in the past with the emails showing up eventually hours to days later, however I sent some emails last week with a true result to Gmail and they still haven't arrived.
I've checked both the inbox and the spam folder to no avail.
If the php email function is returning true there must be an issue on their server correct?
My intended goal:
I maintain some files in my local computer, and I also share them with others by putting them on my website. In the past I did this by manually uploading all the files using FTP, every time I did some modifications etc. Now, I am wondering if I can use Git to help me achieve this (by "pushing" the local files to my website server). My server is hosted by Dreamhost.
First Attempt:
First, I try this tutorial. I first push my local files to my Github repo, and ssh into my Dreamhost server to git clone --bare from the Github repo. But I find that git does not transfer my files. So I ignore the tutorial.
Second Attempt:
I ssh into my Dreamhost server to clone directly from Github. My files are all transfered to the server. Then, on my local computer, I git remote add dreamhost ssh://[email protected]/~/my-project. Then I add some files, and commit, and git push dreamhost master. And a bunch of errors appear:

As a newbie Git user, I must have missed something. Please help!
So, i'm trying to use Silex on my dreamhost account and I'm getting an error
Fatal error: Class 'Phar' not found in blah blah blah...
when I try to include the Silex.phar file. When I look at phpinfo(), there isn't a section for Phar, even though everything I've seen claims that Phar support should be included by default in php 5.3.whatever, which is what i'm running under. Any Ideas?
I recently registered a domain and got hosting from Dreamhost. But when even after three days, the website was not accessible, I contacted support about it. This is the response the support person gave me:
"My apologies! The DNS had gotten stuck, so I went ahead and pushed that through for you. Please allow 2-3 hours for the DNS to propagate."
Now I have to say that my knowledge regarding these things is virtually zero, and I couldn't understand what the support person meant, so I ran a search and it seemed that Mr. Google knew just as much as I did regarding this.
Can someone tell me what "dns getting stuck" means?
So I've got a domain registered with Dreamhost, which apparently does not do recursive lookups, and an app on Heroku. Heroku apps are always configured to use a CNAME record to proxy.heroku.com.
So:
Authoritative DNS: ns1.dreamhost.com (for foo.com)
CNAME record: app.foo.com -> proxy.heroku.com
Resolves to: Set of A records for EC2 IPs
I've been told by some folks trying to connect to the app from behind a Windows Server 2003 DNS Server that it handles SERVFAIL differently and cannot resolve the DNS. I'm trying to understand if this is truly a configuration issue on my side or theirs, notably, per the title:
Must the authoritative DNS server for a domain be recursive to allow CNAME records pointing to other domains?
