Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with Google SPDY on Apache? http://code.google.com/p/mod-spdy/

I run a couple of web servers and am interested to know if there have been any issues with the mod_spdy Apache module and if anyone has seen a visible speed increase in SPDY supported browsers?

How do companies who handle large amounts of data, for example Google or Facebook, backup everything?

According to this Google platform article on Wikipedia, Google has an estimated 450,000+ servers each with a 80+ GB hard disk. That's a lot of data. Do they really keep 1+ GB of backup for every 1 GB of data?

I'm using WordPress with WP Super Cache. I want visitors who come from Google (That inlcudes all country specific referrers like google.co.in, google.co.uk and etc.) to see uncached contents.

What should I do to achieve my goal?

I just updated my robots.txt file on a new site; Google Webmaster Tools reports it read my robots.txt 10 minutes before my last update.

Is there any way I can encourage Google to re-read my robots.txt as soon as possible?

UPDATE: Under Site Configuration | Crawler Access | Test robots.txt:

Home Page Access shows:

Googlebot is blocked from http://my.example.com/

FYI: The robots.txt that Google last read looks like this:

User-agent: *
Allow: /<a page>
Allow: /<a folder>
Disallow: /

Have I shot myself in the foot, or will it eventually read: http:///robots.txt (as it did the last time it read it)?

Any ideas on what I need to do?

I'm wondering who is doing DNS geo location for google.com? By request geo location I mean detecting the location of the user, calculating the nearest server farm to his location, and then routing the request to selected location.

We are evaluating several offers from different vendors for this service and I thought I should know what the big boys are using.
