What is the biggest difference and concerns about OpenLitespeed (not premium Litespeed) and Apache?
About speed, security and management issues, what should newbies understand? This is not about web hosting service, I mean to install by myself? thank you
I am running magento with litespeed.
The problem I am facing is that ajax call is being made of which header is set as x-json, but lightspeed is setting another header of text/html content type
I've checked that page with apache and everything is working fine.
I checked the response headers with apache and litespeed and here are they:
With apache:

I've also added application/json to mime.properties of litespeed,restarted it but that did not work.

I have a ddos protection proxy in place to deal with SYN floods and such. But http floods are still getting through. For some reason their ddos proxy is not blocking any of the flood. So there are about 500 ips connecting to the box as many times as possible and max out at about 20k connections. This is causing php to spawn 1k processes overloading the box. How can I mitigate this http flood? I thought setting up an htaccess file which required a cookie to access the site would work but rewritecond seems to be invoking php which causes the box to overload.
How can I mitigate this?
Is it possible to have 2 web servers running on the same box with different ports and then use htaccess to tunnel traffic from 1 server to another based on a rewritecond? Basically when a certain condition is met I want the request to be handled by my other web server and I don't want to return a moved response.
I have what seems to be a pretty common problem when trying to take a differential backup. We have a SQL Server 2008 Standard (64bit) and we use Litespeed v 5.0.2.0 to take our backups. We take full backups once a week and a differential on a daily basis. The problem is, every time I try to take a diff backup I get the following error:
VDI open failed due to requested abort
BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally.Cannot perform a differential backup for database "myDb", because a current database backup does not exist. Perform a full database backup by reissuing BACKUP DATABASE, omitting the WITH DIFFERENTIAL option.
The problem is that I know 100% I have a full backup because I just double checked. Only once I was able to take a diff backup and that was when I took it immediately after I took a full backup.
I have searched around and noticed that this is pretty common (although mostly with SQL 2005) and a solution that a lot of ppl suggest and that I haven't tried yet is to disable the SQL Server VSS Writer service. The problem with this is #1 I think I might need this service since I am using a third party backup software and #2 I am not sure exactly what the service does and don't want to disable it just like that.
Has any of you ever experienced this problem and how did you go about fixing it?
