When I RDP into a Windows Server EC2 Instance I'd like to be able to use multiple monitors. It doesn't have to be RDP, but I want to be able to have multiple monitors, not a spanned display. I've tried: Checking: Use all my monitors for the remote session mstsc.exe /multimon Adding "use multimon:i:1" in the RDP file Powerstrip install on the EC2 instance

Any way to do this?

EDIT: more information I'm trying to RDP from a Windows 7 machine into a Windows Server 2008 R2 Base default Amazon EC2 instance.

Is there any way to make Remote Desktop v6 open on a specific monitor in a dual monitor setup?

I know it supports dual monitors and it is easy to make it use both monitors, but what I really want is for all of my RDP sessions to open on my secondary monitor. I save all of my frequently used connections in .RDP files and currently I have a mish-mash where some open on my primary and other on my secondary monitor.

In browsing through the RDP file I can't discern what setting is controlling this (I suspect it is not in this file).

So, how do I control this? I'm running Win7 as my client by the way, and connecting almost exclusively to Server 2008 R2 machines.

I have set up remoteapp, and according to all the documentation that i have found, the application should be able to span/move across a dual monitor setup. I found that the rdp file should include desktop span:i:1, which it does. The application comes across fine but when trying to move to secondary display the app just disappears.

There are some other options but i often run into the same obstacle

I have a dual monitor setup and the computers i need to remote control ( to assist the people at the other side) often have a dual monitor setup too.

But all solution i have seen sofar always fail in using both screens. When remote controling i always end up with only 1 monitor used and only 1 monitor controlled

Is there any solution free or paying that is smart in remote controlling with multiple monitor setup ?

UPDATE - Definitely a driver issue. Problem goes away when I uninstall nvidia drivers, comes back when I reinstall them.

I'm having a really strange hardware problem. I have a workstation with two displays, they're both identical V173 ACER monitors. The workstation has two graphics cards, identical GeForce 6200 cards. Both screens are connected through D-sub cables. However one screen is bright white, and the other is kind of a dull yellow.

I have controlled for the following factors:

1) I have tried a third screen on both cards and get the same problem, one will always appear yellow (even the one that was previous bright white).

2) I have reset both displays to factory defaults.

3) I have reset all display options in all control panels (the NVIDIA control panel and the windows display panel) to defaults.

4) I have tried different cables.

5) I have tried making different monitors primary and secondary.

6) I have tried another graphics card.

The only thing I know for sure is that whichever monitor is set to be the primary monitor will be the yellowish monitor. The other one will always be the bright white one.

Thoughts?
