If I am in one autoproxy PAC file and returning the "PROXY xxx.com:80" option, can that link be to another PAC file? Do the url and host parameters for FindProxyForURL(url, host) stay the same or is there something lost?

Continuing on the same topic, what if one or both of these proxy files are hosted behind HTTPS?

I have rather complex proxy setup and one of those proxies requires username/password. Is there a way to configure the username/password so that users don't have to enter them when traffic is redirected to this one proxy? Atleast returning PROXY username:password@server:port or PROXY http://username:password@server:port wont work.

When creating PAC files, one can use functions like isInNet, for example if (isInNet(host, "10.9.9.9", "255.0.255.0")) return "DIRECT"; However, it doesn't make sense to use IP and wildcard/mask when using IPv6 address.

My question is, what is the standard for PAC files when using IP addresses? Do PAC files even support IPv6 addresses? Where can I verify?

We have a Proxy.pac file:

Is working properly, but there are many users that are complaining becauses navigation since proxy.pac deployment is taking to long. It seems dnsResolve and isInNet are the cause of the problem. Is there any other way to improve this script? or how to accelarte dns resolve?

Exactly what the title says. I need to stop IE 8 from reloading the PAC file on every request the browser makes.

I only require it to load once per session.
