By default, if a user account is configured to use a Roaming profile, several locations relating to the profile are copied to a file share whenever that user logs off. One of these items that is included as part of the sync process includes the user's local registry keys. If taking a look at the data for the user's roaming profile on the file share on the server, where can registry data for the profile be located?
I have two Cisco Aironet 1141 access points covering an office; the access points are configured identically (each of them with two SIDs) and are fully working; they are standalone access points, not centrally managed ones.
When a client devices moves between them, there is no automatic handover of the connection. It needs to be re-established again.
How can I achieve client roaming between the two access points?
Can this be achieved without a central management server/controller?
We have a windows 2003 server setup doing active directory. Recently we have added our first non XP machine. This is a windows 7 pro laptop. All is working fine on the user aspect side of this equation except when the person takes their laptop off network. Normally in xp you would have locally cached files that would later sync when on the net. How ever in windows 7 this does not seem to work. It basically breaks down once the user leaves and they are unable to access their data off network. Is this changeable. All I see online are folder redirection concepts but I dobut this is how i want to approach this.
How do I setup Windows Server 2003 to default newly created domain users to be configured with a roaming profile path?
Let's say I have roaming profiles stored at the path \server\profiles. Is there some key or policy that I can set the default profile path to something like:
\server\profiles\$username
without me having to remember to configure the profile path for each newly created user manually?
