Are these three all the same thing being inconsistently named by different manufacturers?

100BASE-FX WDM uses separate wavelengths (1310 nm & 1550 nm) for Tx & Rx over a single strand of fiber. I cannot find any documentation for 100BASE-FX that mentions using WDM over a single strand of fiber. Standard 100BASE-FX uses 1310 nm over two separate strands for Tx & Rx. This leads me to believe that this is 100BASE-BX being incorrectly called 100BASE-FX WDM.

100BASE-BX10 apparently works the same way as 100BASE-BX but I can't find any differences or whether they're compatible.

I need to install new SFP's in a location; however, I need them to connect to existing switches and I'm not sure what SFP type they are. All I know is I've got MM Fiber.

If I installed Cisco GLC-SX-MM 1000Base SFP's, would that cause an issue if the other end of that fiber was connected to a 100Base SFP, or do I need to have matching speeds on both ends?

I inserted a SFP-GE-T (Gigabit RJ-45) transceiver in my Nexus 5548UP and I got "access down" "SFP Validation Failed" in show interface.

According to the Cisco Gigabit Ethernet Transceivers Compability Matrix the SFP-GE-T is compatible with the 5548UP.

How do I get past "SFP Validation Failed" on a SFP-GE-T transceiver on a Nexus 5548UP?

We're speccing up some 10GbE switches for integrating a few older servers into our Equallogic SAN, and we're noticing quite a price gap between SFP+ and Copper (Cat 6A) equipment (Dell 8024F vs 8024).

I'm not really sure what the real-world difference is between the form factors. The Dell guys tell me that SFP+ has a lower latency, but couldn't tell me much more than that besides that our M1000e and PS6010XV chassis's only comes with SFP+ uplinks (and SFP+ is substantially cheaper).

How compatible are sfp modules between devices. For example, am I likely to be able to plug something like this into a cisco, hp, or other switch with mini gbic ports?
