This is a problem that occurs for our IE 8 users (does not happen on IE 9). When rendering a reporting services report IE 8 caches the report so if the data is changed and the user re-runs the report stale data is displayed until the user restarts IE or hits the refresh button.

If I set IE 8 -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Browsing History Settings -> Check for newer versions of stored pages: from "Automatically" to "Every time a I visit a webpage" the problem is fixed, however, I was wondering if there is a setting on SSRS that can tell IE 8 to request a new copy every load without changing the setting for every users's computer?

I already have "Always run this report with the most recent data" and "Do not cache temporary copies of this report" selected in SSRS for this report.

How could I allow anonymous access to SSRS so that all user can access the reports without asking for a user name and password?

A customer of mine recently moved servers and the new server has SQL2008R2. His old server was SQL2005. The new server has substantially better CPU, RAM, and disk performance than the old, but several reports time out while executing.

When I run the underlying query in the SQL Management Studio, the query executes in sub-second time.

The exact error message returned via the Report Manager UI is:

An error occurred within the report server database. This may be due to a connection failure, timeout or low disk condition within the database. (rsReportServerDatabaseError) Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.

It must be noted that this database is not just analytical; it's also fairly transactional, although the transaction volume is not exceptionally high.

What can I do to improve the performance of the SSRS query engine? Are there settings in the data source I can adjust, or in the SSRS config files?

I have a SSRS Data Driven Subscription, the reports are save to a folder, I use the Overwrite Write Mode, however there are old reports that aren't generated anymore that lingers on the folder, I would like to clear the destination folder before running my subscription is this possible?

If No what is my alternative?

We are using SQLServer 2008R2 and would like to run and SSRS report from a windows batch file. We're loading data warehouse tables using a third party scheduler program and at the end our dataload we want to run a data quality report using SSRS. I can create report subscribtions to email the report but how do I communicate to the report server that the job is done and it's time to run the report? OUr scheduler application can run batch files so if I could pass this to the report server through a batch file that would be great...
