Here is our problem, when using SSRS Report Builder we are able to successfully connect to our data source with no errors, but when we try to connect to a data set we get the following error. Everything was working normally, this issue just started appearing about two weeks ago. Other than trying to access a dataset on the report server, everything is operating normally. We don't get any errors running the report in our web client. This error occurs on any PC that tries to connect to the server using Report Builder, then viewing a dataset.

We've done a bit of research on this trying to resolve the issue. We have exported every certificate under the Report Servers Personal certificate store to the local machine. We've checked to make sure that none of the certificates are expired. We've checked the certificate selected in the properties of the network protocols in the SQL Server configuration manager. There are two possible certificates to choose from and we've tried them both. (restarting the service after each). We've checked all of the records in DNS and DHCP to make sure there were no errors. We've also checked the CN and subject alternative names on each of the certificates to make sure they were correct for their respective domains.

I think the problem might be there are too many certificates for two domains. We connect to the server using a public domain and a private domain, so we have certificates for both. There are actually three total certificates in IIS. One for the public domain, issued by Godaddy. One is a self-signed certificate for our private domain, and the third is a certificate issued by our in house Certificate Authority for our private domain. Only the two private domain certificates are accessible under the SQL Server configuration manager, but we generally connect to the server through the public domain.

Do we need to remove any of the certificates? how do we get the datasets in report builder to connect properly? It's probably worth noting that we only get this error when viewing properties on a dataset in report builder. SSMS connects with no issues, RDP connects without issues, and our Web servers connect without any issues.

After applying hotfix KB3194725 to our SQL server, the SSRS server throws the following exception when trying to generate a report:

Exception type: InvalidReportServerDatabaseException

Exception message: The version of the report server database is either in a format that is not valid, or it cannot be read. The found version is '164'. The expected version is '163'.

We are writing a deployment package to install SSRS 2012 on client servers. Some of them may have a certificate installed, but in all cases we do not want the installation to force the SSL (https) connection; we always want the non-SSL address to be accessible. I know the rsconfig file can be edited after deployment, but we would like the deployment and configuration to be 100% automated.

Is there a command-line switch or install-time configuration setting to tell the SSRS installation to not require the SSL connection, even if a certificate has been installed?

EDIT: After searching there doesn't seem to be a way to set this at install-time. Anyone have a way of changing the setting via code after installation?

Subscriptions that include reports, as oppose to just a link, are currently failing with "The report server has encountered a configuration error. Mail will not be resent." Reviewing the logs reveals the actual issue, "service account doesn't have rights to check domain user SIDs." This issue does not occur when only including a link to the report in email. Otherwise, users are able to generate reports just fine, subscriptions just fail when the report is embedded in the email.

I have installed SQL Sever 2012 along with Reporting Services.

I have configured Reporting Services using the Reporting Services Configuration Manager. It seems like the service is running properly, however I am unable to log in to it using any account.

I have tried using :

• the built-in Administrator account, added to the sysadmin role in SQL Server.
• another account, the one that was used to install SQL Server, also a sysadmin and a member of the Administrators group.

I have tried both logging in to the Report Manager in IE (also tried to run IE as Administrator as sometimes suggested) and via SSMS.

I am trying to log in locally.

I can tell that the service is running because when I try to log in to the Report Manager, I seen the following error in the familiar web interface:

The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized.

The connection goes through without a problem

As you can see I have changed the default port. I started with 80 but it wasn't working and site I already have IIS serving websites on port 80 I thought it was safer to use another port.
