I'm new at Linux and Nginx. I'm running Nginx 1.24.0
on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
. By default, Nginx creates a virtual host at /var/www/html
and serves files correctly when I create virtual hosts there. However, I’m trying to serve a virtual host, I keep getting a 403 Forbidden error.
Here’s the setup and details:
- My
nginx -T
output:

Files in /var/www/html
work fine. but when I try to serve from /home/amyr/Desktop/Sites/telbot/public
or any other places that I've created, I get a 403 Forbidden error.
Your configuration states that
telegrambot
is on port 82. You can access it athttp://telegrambot:82
. Or, you should changelisten
directive to port 80.Solved. The reason was I did not add the
php-fpm
package to my config file. (cmd I used to install php-fpm =>apt-get install php8.3-fpm
).Final config:
