The Authentication Add-In (used to authenticate Adobe Live Media Encoders connecting to FMS) will not install with Adobe Media Server 5.0 because it looks for Flash Media Server and does not recognise Adobe Media Server.
Is there a workaround or a new version of the Authentication Add-In?
I have a really simple question but the answer may be a little more complex I guess.
Okay. Let's go. I have an Application called Xsplit Broadcaster (http://www.xsplit.com/). It supports streaming video through RTMP. Now what I want to do is this:
+--(720p)--> TwitchTV FirstChannel
XSplit --(720p RTMP)-->[MyTranscodingServer]--+
+--(360p)--> TwitchTV SecondChannel
Is there a simple way to do this?
Additional info: Both channels accept standard RTMP stream on their RTMP endpoint using either username/password or streamkey. The server operating system is GNU/Linux. The solution may not be paid, otherwise we'd be using AkamaiHD Network or such service. This is a non-profit project.
I'm looking on Adobe Flash Media Server webiste, under Instance Types
For each type of instance, it lists the "Simultaneous connections".
If the instance I want lists "1000 RTMFP", does that mean that I can only have a maximum of 1000 people viewing my live stream at one time?* What happens to person #1001 if there are already 1000 people watching? Or, does RTMFP mean something else?
I am using Amazon Web Services and Amazon Cloudfront to stream my event, which use FMS.
No one in the free support (or forums) at AWS and Adobe seems to know the answer.
I have a webcam connected to a lightweight system (BeagleBoard) running Angstrom and I'd like to serve the webcam traffic up to one or more viewers. The problem I face is threefold: 1) I want random viewers to come and go without having to stream to dedicated destination IPs 2) I need to lighten the load (processor and network) on the BeagleBoard, so I think it would be best to have a multi-tiered stream-and-forward approach from the BeagleBoard to a middle server and then out to the viewers 3) Preferably, the end stream would be viewable in an embedded plugin.
It looks like Red5 on my middle-tier server plus VLC streaming over http from the embedded system might work, but I'm not sure if there's a smart way to go about doing this or if Red5 can do the forwarding as I envision.
Honestly, I'm rather out of my element here, and even pointers to good starting places would be appreciated. Also, latency isn't a big concern as this only needs to be "mostly-live".
I am looking for a Live Video Streaming solution.
The clients will be able to watch the video with a plugin (Flash or Silverlight), or a standalone application (Windows Media Player, FLV, etc).
But I can't choose between Microsoft Solution (Windows Media Server (MMS, RTSP) + Silverlight as client) or the Adobe solution (Flash Media Server (RTMP) + Flash/Flex).
The streaming is for short duration cast and will not be online 24/24h.
I tried both, and I found the cheaper version of FMS don't provide security to prevent users to register as published (you have to write custom module...), Windows Media Server provides this function.
We already have Windows Server licences. (So Windows Media Server will be "free" for us.)
What do you recommend? What is the best between Flash or Silverlight for Live Video Streaming?
