From Spacewalk server ( from UI), I could install packages on client only after executing "rhn_check" command on client; until then, it simply shows the action as pending. Date and time are synchronized. Keys are working fine. I didn't schedule it to later time. I selected "Schedule action as soon as possible".

Of course we can write a script or something, but obviously something is wrong. I don't want to wait for 4hrs either.

Is likewise available via RHN?

I've used likewise-open a few times in ubuntu on small projects but looking at it again for a larger project. I have seen press releases regarding the support of likewise and redhat but can't find it in RHN.

The likewise enterprise site offers 'free downloads' of the open version in RPM format but I'd prefer to have something manged via RHN as that is the general policy here.

Has someone converted successfully a running Oracle Enterprise Linux server to redhat enterprise and was able to register it on RHN network? Tried to install kernel from redhat, updated the rhnsd binaries. I have the following errors every time I try to register on Redhat;

This system is not subscribed to any channels.

RHN channel support will be disabled.

When doing an "Erratum Search" on the RHN site, and provide a specific package name, I get a result. The result is returned, and I have a single RHBA number, and I click on the link. The next page is a list of bugs and issues under "Description". What I would like to know is what package this affects? Are the packages under "Packages" the affected packages, or are the packages under "Packages" the "fixed" packages and need to be installed?

I need to create a local RHEL5 Update Server to help eliminate the number of servers exposed to the web. All the local rhel5 servers need to be able to use this server as a repository for patches. I have a server registered with Redhat and would like to use yum to accomplish this. It is possible?

yum redhat update rhn
