How do I import javax.servlet in Teamcity? I have the below error message when I try to build the java project through teamcity IntelliJ IDEA runner.

This is my first time with teamcity and I'm using this https://github.com/marekbruchaty/SimpleJavaWebApp project. I have a CentOS server which has teamcity and gitlab.

From my desktop, using IntelliJ IDEA I can import servlet.api to do a successful build. But the teamcity is in another location and managed remotely and I wonder how to import the servlet-api into teamcity?

Where should I add the servlet-api.jar as a dependency in teamcity so it can compile?

I want to transfer my web application from tomcat7 / java7 to tomcat 8.5 / java8. My application consists of a directory with some JSP files & WEB-INF folder which contains my application's web.xml :

Suppose that I've following servlet implementation:

I've made a separate jar file which contains all of my servlet implementations and added it to TOMCAT-HOME/lib folder (Because it's used by several virtual hosts & I don't want to load it in the memory separately for every virtual host).

The problem is that when tomcat starts, I get this message it catalina.out:

& when I want to access my servlet using address my-domain.ir/MyServlet1 I get a 404 not found error page, but if I add servlet mapping in web.xml instead of using annotations, It works fine. In both cases my JSP files works fine.

Any suggestion?

I'm trying to setup the GlassFish application server behind an Apache reverse proxy. I've got it working with both port 80 and 443, but the problem is the transition between the two that occurs when a user accesses a page that requires authentication which causes Glassfish to issue a redirect to the login page, and in turn requires SSL over Apache 443/GlassFish 8181. In this case the user's browser attempts to access the origin server directly, which in my case is localhost so actually causes the user to try to access their own local system (https://localhost:8181/myapp).

To get this far I added the following to httpd.conf:

And the following to ssl.conf:

I've tried to add an additional ProxyPassReverse directive, but that doesn't work, probably because it can't handle switching protocols. Maybe I need to add a RewriteRule directive? Or maybe I need to enable mod_proxy_html to rewrite content?

I have a website project in Eclipse using servlets which is running on Tomcat. In one of the servlets I reference an external stylesheet as such:

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css" />

Where would I put this style.css for it to work? I have tried almost every folder in the project directory and in the site directory under Tomcat and it still won't work.

I maintain a GWT web application that uses 3 java servlets for file download/upload and data transfer. I had my servlet mapping sin place and have not touched them in months, just a few days ago I started receiving 404 errors when trying to access my servlets. I can't even seem to access the servlets by typing their full path from the WEB-INF/classes directory (ie /servlet/com/company/project/servletname).

Unfortunately these are running off of a shared hosting plan and I do not have access to starting or stopping tomcat or much of anything else. Before I issues a trouble ticket with my hosting provider I just wanted to check to see if my assumptions about servlets are correct and to see if there were any steps that I should follow for this type of situation.

Does tomcat need to be restarted in order to use a new servlet uploaded to the "WEB-INF/classes" directory? Does tomcat need to be restarted to read changes to the web.xml in the "WEB-INF" directory?

If I put a .class file at /WEB-INF/classes/foo/bar.class should I be able to access it immeidately via "http://www.mydomain.com/servlet/foo/bar" or do I need ot wait for tomcat to recognize this new class file? Or do I have to include it in the existing web.xml servlet mapping file?
