I have a Windows Server 2012 R2. I am hosting my development database server there. Last week I truncated many tables and did a shrink database to free up some space. And I had obtained around 60GB free space. Now free space is getting decreased around 5GB every day (15GB in 3 days).

I would like to know who is taking this much space every day. It is not the database transactions – because I don’t have many transactions in my development database. Is there a way to get who claimed “new” free space each day?

Please be clear that I am NOT looking for memory used by each application. What I am looking for is who took “new” free space each day.

I am trying to clear Temporary ASP.Net files folder using following command

rmdir /q /s "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files

But I am getting acces denied error even after iis is stopped. How can I delete/clear the folder?

How do I know whether a AD group is a Distribution Group or Security Group? Note: I am an ordinary user. I do not have permission to run power shell scripts. Any way to identify using User Interface that does not require admin permissions?

I want to see all the websites in IIS 7.5.

I typed

appcmd list site 

It lists only “Default Website”. It is typed from C:Windows\System32\inetsrv. Any idea why it does not list other sites that are under default website?

Note: Even when I type it from C:Windows\syswow64\inetsrv. It is showing the same result.

In our project, we have two SQL Server Jobs- one to run on every night 12 AM (let’s call it “JobA”) and another one to run on every month ( 1st of every month 12AM. And let’s call it “JobB”). These job creation scripts were run on April 8.

We have a log table that logs each successful run of the jobs (It logs failures happened during execution also). When I checked the log it is found that the “JobA” has run successfully from April 9 to April 30. Then it has run May 3rd to till date. And there is no log for “JobB”

I am assuming that the server would have gone down on May 1st and May 2nd, that’s why I don’t see any log for “JobB” in our logging database.

However, how do I prove it?

• Can I use any properties from the job to prove this?
• Can I use any server logs to prove it?

Please share your thoughts.
