How do you get windows XP as a client to authenticate against kerberos or heimdal (where the OS is either Ubuntu, FreeBSD or OpenBSD)
rev's questions
which is possible (or both) heimdal or kerberos for heterogeneous network login
ie
unix kdc running MIT kerberos or heimdal clients (services) to kdc bsd/linux client (to authenticate to services examples authenticate or ssh) windows/bsd/linux
of come across a lot of text discussing this and at least for me it never gives a clear answer, what do I need to be thinking when making this decision?
Very few texts talk about
a unix key server a client windows (lets say XP) to authenticate.
The texts that I have read will mention this topic but more or less skip the details. When setting up/compiling/building/etc a unix (say freebsd) key server, what are the "musts"
a couple of words have been thrown down with the type of authentication/encryption needed but never enough detail.
I haven't been able to find a a good resource for this or posts in mailing lists
help/ideas?
