We have a Cisco switch which logs this each time it gets its IP via DHCP:

How can we configure dhcpd (standard dhcpd running on RHEL 6.1) to hand out that info ? (This is seemingly not the option time-offset , as that's already set)

I have an application running (on RHEL5) that streams data onto an NFS share. Recently, I saw a lot of .nfsXXXX... (xxx being a hexadecimal number) appearing in its working directory, where the application writes hourly files and later moves them to a different filename.
What are these files? Is it an indication of something gone wrong? How to do further diagnose?
We're planning on moving a large MySQL database from one server to another - moving from 32 bit to 64 bit, so copying the database files seems not to be an option.
Large here means around 30 tables, and 60Gb space on the file system. Having had a bit problems(being incredibly slow for one) with dumping databases only a tenth this size before:
Does anyone have any tips on how to best transfer this between servers ? (Anything "better" than mysqldump ? Any particular command line switches that should be on ? Dump/reload from files, or pipe directly to the other db, do gzip compression etc. )
Does anyone know of recent subversion RPMs for RHEL 4 ? While RHEL 4 is old - we still have some servers we'd like to upgrade to the latest subversion release - but prepackaged RPMS seems hard to come by, and the newest source is non-trivial to get compiling on such old RHL versions.

I've a CentOS 5.4 server it has 2 nics. Is there any way I can configure this box to use the 2. nic as a failover if the physical connection on the 1. nic fails ?
This is an internal server that has no connectivity to the internet. I can wire the 2 nics to 2 different switches, though all on the same subnet. It should have just 1 IP address.
Can linux now also load share (atleast the outgoing packets) on both these nics ? Any step-by step guide appreciated.
I'm looking for some way to list the open sockets on a (local) machine. In particular I'd like to get the listening tcp socket addresses. (Much like the info from netstat.exe - but in a powershell "hative" way.)
Having every file be updated just when accessing them sounds like a waste.
What's the catch with mounting a file system with the noatime option. What kind of applications/servers relies on the access time?

I've long since passed the line where I can remember passwords and names of everything I need for daily operation.
That means everything from root passwords for *nix machines, IP addresses/hostnames, VPN connection credentials, database user/passwords and so on.
How do you organize and keep track of all that ?
Is there any interface that'll make cmd.exe (or for that matter any "console" application) more friendly ? I'm thinking easier copy/paste abilities and more powerful command editing , more like a typical unix shell.
We're in the need of deploying a .NET clickonce application through an Apacke Tomcat 6. server. Does anyone have any tips or caveats for setting this up ? (Or is ist just so straight foreward I don't even need to ask ?)
