How can you find the process issuing ping to localhost? While it is not script, where the ping command can be simply grep from process table.
I have used wireshark, but it is of no help to find out which process actually causing the ping.

I have strange issue on my hands.
I have opened (GNU) screen for one serial console and in that same console I have opened another screen to another serial console.
It was working but I am now unable to detach the last one without detaching the 1st one.
I know that this is due to same configuration for both screen.
Is there some way to detach the last screen without detaching the first one?
Any advice is most welcome and appreciate. Thanks

It is possible on Linux environment to restrict the use of network only on selected applications?
Lets just say, i have very limited prepaid data limit on mobile modem and i want only use that data limit to connect to SSH. while restrict every other application to access the network anyhow.
Is there any solution to this? It will be best, if it is also easy to return to normal.
