Trying to set up a local dns server as to speed up intranet development.
I use bind9 set a sub domain named mydomain.com with /etc/bind/db.mydomain.com.
The problem is that I can correctly resolve address like server.mydomain.com, but the server can not resolve mydomain.com (which without the prefix).
Is there anything I missed?

Sometimes I'd like to copy write something from one window to my editor or compare something.
So if I can put two workspace2 in one screen, so I can easily drag two windows to different workspace and get both fullscreen, and then start work on one of them.
Also I can buy another monitor, but it seems to cost too much and as the screen is getting bigger, two windows in one screen is acceptable.
Does X support a solution for this?

How can I know which device files under the "/dev" directory are corresponded to my pc's mouse and keyboard?
It seems my user's group has no right to bind a port less than 1024.
Also I once that my user group can not operate the sound card, I add myselft to the sound group.
But I want the general answer, how can I check which group can do what? How to set authorize group? Is there any difference between different linux distribution?
Is there any comparation of the bandwidth usage, it seems that vnc take much more bandwitdh, but I am not sure.
Is there any way I can make vnc use less bandwidth.
