I'm writing low-latency HFT application, so I want to use fast netwrok card which allows me to by-pass network stack. However 10 GB connection on Stock Exchange is too expensive that's why I want to use 1000Base-T (much cheaper)

So I want to connect HP 570SFP+ to 1000Base-T, but in the spec I can't find support for the 1000Base-T. A the same time corresponding Solarflare network card http://www.solarflare.com/Content/userfiles/documents/Solarflare_Onload_SFN6122F_10GbE_Adapter_Brief.pdf supports 1000Base-T

• If HP 570SFP+ supports 1000Base-T?
• If can I use SFN6122F instead of HP-branded HP 570SFP+, will it work properly, if "pure" Solarflare card is fully compatible with HP DL360p Gen8?
• If someone succeed connecting HP 570SFP+ (718904-B21) to 1000Base-T ?

After upgrading my server (HP DL360p Gen8) to the latest ILO 4.30 I have such error

What should I do and how to fix my problem? I do not have physical access to my server and so now I have no access at all (I still have ILO with no remote console)

I think probably I should use "back-up" copy of ilo if it stored on server... or should I reupload some another ILO version?

upd I've noticed that undefined link is "https://*****/html/undefined", i think I can try "hack" and just type direct link to "remote" page, but i do not have an address. It should be something like "https://*****/html/remote.html" Probably someone, who has access to ilo, can give me a link?

I'm using HP DL360p Gen8, I can not start my Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 server. When Welcome screen should appear I only see black screen and mouse pointer. When I'm trying safe mode it hangs trying to load "classpnp.sys".

I'm using "mirror-raid" + extra "spare" hdd installed, so I wonder how is it possible that i'm having troubles with corrupted files? What should I do? Should I reinstall Windows or there are other options?

I'm tuning my server for low-latency. The HP low-latency guide suggests to disable this option "Processor Power and Utilization Monitoring" because:

Disables iLO Processor State Mode Switching and Insight Power Manager Processor Utilization Monitoring, and its associated SMI

Disabling System Management Interrupts to the processor provides one of the greatest benefits to low-latency environments. Disabling the Processor Power and Utilization Monitoring SMI has the greatest effect because it generates a processor interrupt eight times a second in G6, G7, and Gen8 servers.

But I can not find this option in BIOS. I've checked HP ROM-Based Setup Utility User Guide and it is not there.

How to disable "Processor Power and Utilization Monitoring", what exact steps should I do?

Sounds cool, but I wonder why it disabled by default? More or less I understand advantages of turning it on, but what is disadvantages of turning it on?

I'm using server for HFT trading. Server cames with Xeon E5 on the board so I was expecting that I can enjoy the power of Intel Data Direct I/O technology.

However it seems that network controller "HP Ethernet 1Gb 4-port 331FLR Adapter" doesn't support DDIO, because i can't find this information in the spec: http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/14214_div/14214_div.pdf

Am I correct that DDIO on my server is not possible because "HP Ethernet 1Gb 4-port 331FLR Adapter" doesn't support it?

And if so i just wonder how is that possible that HP sells server with latest Intel CPU's with network cards that just doesn't support latest features...

I have HP DL360p Gen8 646902-xx1 I'm trying to optimize my config for low latency trading.

Should I enable "Intel NIC DMA Channels"? Will that help/affect my system?

From HP doc:

Added a new ROM Based Setup Utility (RBSU) Advanced Performance Option menu that allows the user to enable Intel NIC DMA Channels (IOAT). This option is disabled by default. When enabled, certain networking devices may see an improvement in performance by utilizing Intel's DMA engine to offload network activity. Please consult documentation from the network adapter to determine if this feature is supported.

While running HP update on my HP DL360p server i have noticed that one of the suggested items is for 100-series server. Why so? It also marked as "critical to install" so I've decided to answer here. Am I really should install 100-series update on 360-series server?

In my HFT software I plan to use one core for stock index calculation. That would be simply while(true) loop without any delays which will calculate (sum and multiply) components as often as possible (so millions times per second) and I plan to do that 8 hours per day every day.

I was never before loading my computer to 100% full time every day regullary. May it be dangerous? Do processor has kind of "resource" (very big of course) after which it can stopped working?

I'm using HP DL360p Generation 8. I need a pretty reliable server, so I'm using RAID 1 with a spare drive, and I also added an extra power supply. But should I install online spare memory? Or it's just wasting money?

I have a server that used for high-frequency trading. That means that even 0.1 ms is important. I have up to 10 MBit/s data traffic. I need certain UDP ports to be opened because I receive data via multicast.

Now I don't know what should I do:

• just open ports that I need in Windows firewall and be secured but slow

• just disable Windows firewall and be unsecured but fast

• I am in LAN and server is not used for anything else than trading so it's probably OK to turn-of firewall

• From other hand how much delay firewall introduces? Probably this delays are not important for me?

I do see such process in task manager MtxHotPlugService. How can I check if this is a virus?

I need to determine if a particular file was accessed in the last, say, 2 days.

I'm using Vodafone 3G modem. I've disabled other network devices in the system (ethernet, wifi, wimax) turned off firewall and antivirus. cisco vpn client connects successfully but I still can not access computer 192.168.147.120 (as well as any other computer from network).

Any suggestions are welcome as I don't know what to do.
