I've browsed the other related questions, as well as countless Google searches, but nothing seems to fit our unique situation.
We have a Netopia 3347 DSL Modem/Router. The rest of the network is connected to this through a switch and various hubs.
DHCP is turned off on the Netopia, and our Domain Controller handles DHCP.
We have a "quarantine" bench where we would like machines to be able to access the Internet, but restrict their access to the rest of the network.
We have a Linksys E2000 flashed with DD-WRT, and an 8-port Cisco ESW 540 switch to play with for the quarantine bench.
We tried using the Linksys alone, connected to the DSL modem, using the Linksys for DHCP and setup separate VLANs, etc but nothing has worked. We receive one of three results:
- Machines on the Linksys have access to both the Internet AND network
- Network access, but NO Internet access
- No access whatsoever
When we try setting up VLANs on the Netopia, we completely lose access and have to do a complete reset.
We've tried numerous configurations of VLANs and subnets. To be honest, this is a little over my head.
Any suggestions as to the right way to go about doing this?
I may not have provided enough information; if more is needed I will gladly provide it.
Thanks in advance!
