I have multiple mediawiki installations, and I'm wondering if it's safe to allow them to all use the same memcached server.
Are there any "gotchas" involved?
During a recent update, a novice sysadmin accidently cancelled an exchange update in the middle of the update.
The issue seems to be that PowerShell's webservice is not responding correctly. I checked the folder, and there is nothing there, except a web.config file.
Can anyone tell me what files are in their C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ClientAccess\PowerShell
folder?
I've decided to move most of my servers out of our closet at work and into a datacenter. All of our servers are 110v, however we're starting to purchase some new ones, and the datacenter tech recommended we opt for the 208v since it was cheaper for the cage we are getting.
I've looked up on most of our servers that we traditionally use 110v for, however they SEEM to all support 208v as well (HP DL360 g4, Dell 2850's, and Dell 2650's).
Is there anything wrong with putting all of these servers on 208v??
I need to audit a user to see if they are using internet radio (Pandora, shoutcast, etc). Normally, I just ask them to use their computer, however I am not in the same facility as this person, so I need to know of a way that I can either monitor their workstation silently (without them knowing), or if that's not viable, log on as them, with out changing their password. I am the administrator of the domain, so I have admin privileges on that workstation.
Remote workstation is Windows XP Pro.

Does anyone have any ideas what's going wrong here? I've installed Outlook 2010 x64 on a mailbox server, and I'm running this command from the exchange management console.
I've installed OpenNMS, and configured NSClient++ on a Win2k8 r2 box. NMS sees the NSClient, however nsclient logs the following errors:
I've tried everything imaginable to resolve this issue, along with disabling SSL, which nets another error:
Does anyone have any helpful tips on getting this to install and work correctly??
When I try to send an email from my blackberry to the same address, exchange denies the message with 5.5.4 5.1.0 Sender Denied.
Any ideas?
I've ran through the tests at http://testexchangeconnectivity.com/ and The ActiveSync test is passing, but with warnings.
This is the warning I get:
Only able to build certificate chain when using the Root Certificate Update functionality from Windows Update. Your server may not be properly configured to send down the required intermediate certificates to complete the chain. Consult the certificate installation instructions or FAQ's from your Certificate Authority for more information.
I purchased the SSL cert from godaddy, but I'm not quite sure where to go from here.
I have a hyper-v server with 4 GigE nic's. I have assigned one of the nic's as an internal network (192.168.x.x) and that nic is working as expected.
We have a need for a server to have access to the public side of our firewall so I have plugged nic #2 into the switch outside our firewall. For security purposes, I do not want the Hyper-V Host to have an IP address on the outside, however, I would like the guests to be able to connect via statically assigned IP's (there is no DHCP server outside our firewall, so all IP's must be statically assigned).
However, when I setup the nic as "external" and plug the cable in, the host shows the wire is connected, but the guest cannot ping anything outside the network.
I'm assuming I need to have the host have a public IP, is that correct? If it is, is there anyway to avoid this?
I have several (~75) users that need to setup a VPN connection to a RRAS server using PPTP. Now, I can manually create these connections no problem, but it's time consuming. I'd much rather email them a batch script, or something similar, and have them run it.
Is there any way to accomplish this?
I have recently aquired a small (30 user) domain structure, that was setup HORRIBLY. The previous IT Manager didn't know anything about best practices or the proper way of setting up DNS. Hell he hardly knew what DNS was!
Without going on a soapbox, I have come across an issue where various functions requiring domain access (Intranet site, Exchange, etc.) are at random times giving users a login prompt, and their accounts are not being authenticated. Even though the username and password are correct.
The only way to rectify the situation is to disable their account in AD and then re-enable it. After that it works fine.
Is this caused by something that I'm not doing correctly? Misconfiguration? Fluke?
Is there any reason why I shouldn't use example.com as my AD domain versus example.local or some other non-existant variant?
