After I typed the following police command for a type qos class on a Cisco Nexus 7000 switch:
police cir 8 kbps pir 8 kbps
I get the following message:
Note: pir/max-burst ignored
Can someone explain why PIR is ignored?
I understand that OSPF has states that describe the status of a neighbor (e.g. Init and Full). Does EIGRP also have similar information? I'm programmatically trying to get the status of an EIGRP neighbor using SNMP OIDs. Is there anything in the MIB that can give me the information that I need?
Can someone please explain the difference between access ports and trunk ports on a switch? I'm starting to learn networking, and my understanding is that access ports are used to connect endpoints (e.g. computers and printers) to the switch and trunk ports are used to connect two switches together. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
