2 out of 8 sites have reported not been able to connect to the network this morning, everybody excluding head office use terminal services, i have 2 2008 servers in a pool/farm. My network Cisco and my Cisco partner has already confirmed the network is fine (i can keep solid PINGS on server/machines at other sites too)

No matter what i try (CTRL + ALT + END) also changing resolution and common settings i cannot get the screen to come up.

Some get black screen, some get logon screen. and when logon get a black screen. I've tried logging them off remotely also fresh users + admin accounts

They can connect via our Remote desktop gateway... just not across the network?

help :(

to conclude: Cisco is apparently fine (i can VNC to their PC's!) I can Ping and print from their site. Other remote users are unaffected. black screen?!?! PCs, Laptops + Thin clients having the issue, XP through to windows 7. licenses O K SBS2011

So I've had issues for a long time with out of office, i believe my exchange has been setup incorrectly. When running tests on testexchangeconnectivity it connects to http://mydomain.com/autodiscover and tries http://autodiscover.mydomanin.com unfortunately neither of these have been configured and i only have the DNS set up for owa.mydomain.com

Whats my best step? mydomain.com points to my web designers server. owa.mydomain points to us and seems to work for remote(sbs2011 thing) and OWA.

We have a 4 day weekend coming up soon and it has been suggested that all turn out of office assistant on to ensure all customers are aware we are closed.

Due to end user reliability and stupidity i have been requested to come up with a way to set all of them.

Is there a way to make a transport rule do this? instead of the actual out-of-office assistant. an reply-to-all emails function would do the job, with a global company message.

or a way to set out of office via exchange, without having to administer all user accounts.

Ive requested the carpet to be removed from my server room, a disaster was almost waiting to happen air con leaked and the carpet UNDER the rack was soaked. (air con unit 0.3 meter from rear of servers)

They have asked if we can have some sort of lining thrown over the carpet as it is a rented building.

If so what material or other recommendations do you have?

So my company has bought a company in Africa and i am moving them over to a virtual 2003 terminal server, my users use a 2008 server to save on licenses and as they are only running sage and emails i will recycle my old ts.

I wish for them to be able to do NOTHING whatsoever except open outlook, print via redirected printers and open sage.

can this be achieved with Group Policy's? or should i look at some software to lock it down. Is server 2003 TS secure?

I am new to virtual servers, vlans. I am a programmer and have been assigned the task to make a stable storage server, i threw XenServer Free 5.6SP2 on an old box (HP ProLiant ML350 G5) set my raid(5), installed the footprint, all went well. very simple using the gui. I installed my image of windows server 2003, all worked well.

Now from xencenter, i set my networks up, created a vlan. But how do i connect my VLAN to the network? Do i need a compatible switch? Do i do something with this switch? Its all new, confusing. Do i need 1 physical NIC per VM? i was under the impression i can use my only physical NIC for as many server as i wanted (obviously with consequences)

Basically, i have a server with xenserver. windows server 2003 installed and working. just cant get it onto MY network.
