I'm having trouble coming to a conclusion to my answer.

I'm in charge of the development of a potentially large site for Australia. The task now is choosing a server. We will need a a powerful server to cater for the system being built with all its features.

Personally I've have had better experience with hosts outside of Australia. Also the cost of services in Australia is considerably higher that other parts of the world.

Hence my questions is does the distance form a server to a client machine really matter when serving a website? From what I had read it does not make a huge impact.

Considering that we would need 24 hours support we could host anywhere. Also by sourcing externally from Australia we can get more for our money. Hence afford a server of increased power.

The site will run on a .com.au so it will need to point to that domain. Do we need to host in Australia?

I'm am in charge of a VPS with one hosted website. I need to run a crop job for the site and am having much trouble with it.

From the cpanel for the site I'm running

However it is failing to work. Please note that I had removed the sites user name for the purpose of posting code on the net. I keep getting and email saying it has failed with the content 'No input file specified'. I have most defiantly checked to make sure the path and file is correct. The file defiantly exist and does run correctly. The path is correct as taken form $_SERVER via php.

Is there something I'm missing? I have done much research and from what I can tell it should work fine.

Recently I have purchased a VDH package and need to be able to communicate between sub domain with the $_SESSION array. The system has been build with this is mind. I clarified that it was possible with the VDH service provide before purchase but they have not provided much help in accessing the situation.

I have done much research and following all advice given but cannot get it to work. I have a basic testing setup where one page will set the sessions variable and on another sub domain will output the session. The current result is that the session data is missing but the session ID is the same on bot test pages.

All the domains are on the same box.

Test file one

Some places have mentioned it may be a permissions error. I have access the httpd.conf file and adjusted the user and group permissions to be the same but still the data is not passed.

From what I can tell all the domains are accessing the same tmp space where the session date is being stored.

Support mentioned that I should disabled suPHP and Euexec to make it work. This did not change the outcome.

I cannot find the solution to my problem anywhere on the net. I have tried all possible solutions I can fine from variations in the PHP code to adjusting permissions.

I have tried some of the shell commands that people mentioned but they have not worked. CMD in the shell is not something that I'm familiar with. I have Putty set up and have tired a few thing via that.

Does anyone one have any ideas? Is there anything I can try? My client is
