Works 100% ESXi 5.1

HBA (LSI 1064e) > 1x SAS2 100GB SSD

Doesn't work ESXi 5.1

HBA (LSI 9211-8i IT /IBM M1015) > 1x SAS2 100GB SSD

After a few hours of heavy HD load i get: - Device or filesystem with identifier ['all drives'] has entered the All Paths Down state. - ESXi retries but loses connectivity to the SAS drive, marks it as "dead or error" - reboot fixes the issue

How can i fix this issue?

Both machines are running Ubuntu 12.04

Remote NFSv4 Client

$ ls /mnt/storage/aaaaaaa_aaa/bbbb/cccc_ccccc gives this error:
ls: reading directory .: Too many levels of symbolic links

How can I fix this?

When error occurs ls start listing the files, however PHP brakes.

On the NFSv4 Server

In /etc/fstab:

/mnt/storage    /srv/storage    none    bind    0 0

In /etc/exports

/srv         192.168.1.0/24(rw,async,insecure,no_subtree_check,crossmnt,fsid=0,no_root_squash)
/srv/storage   192.168.1.0/24(rw,async,nohide,insecure,no_subtree_check,no_root_squash)

I came across it in PHP. scandir would return 1612577.gz & 1612579.gz, but skips 1612578.gz and yet the file types and properties are identical on them

and this only happens on the nfs client, works 100% on the server

This seems similar: EXT4 "No space left on device (28)" incorrect but there is no explanation

I created an ext4 filesystem on a RAID 1 array with:

mke2fs -t ext4 -T small /dev/md0

tune2fs -l >> http://pastebin.com/P5eKXmgC

tried this too:

mke2fs -t ext4 -b 1024 /dev/md0

tune2fs -l >> http://pastebin.com/ujLtE95L

Copying a single directory with many tiny files I get:

cp: cannot create regular file `/mnt/storage_temp/pics/pic3412.jpg': No space left on device

space used 5%

inodes used 1%

I manually tried:

cp /source/test1.jpg /mnt/storage_temp/pics/test1.jpg --- error
cp /source/test1.jpg /mnt/storage_temp/pics/test2.jpg --- ERROR
cp /source/test1.jpg /mnt/storage_temp/pics/test3.jpg --- no error

Notes: RAID 1 disks are error free. I tried mv instead of cp and got the same thing. I tried omitting -T small with no effect

Can somebody help me understand this magic?
