according to https://www.smartmontools.org/wiki/Supported_RAID-Controllers I should be able to query my HDDs behind an Adaptec 51645 with smartctl higher than 6.4

I'm running 6.6, but have no luck:

I'm having some trouble thinking outside IPv4 and to find out what is the best way to (fully) enable IPv6 in our small company network.

(Motivation: gather knowledge, make port forwarding obsolete, long run IPv6 only)

Current situation

I think I'll start with describing our current network setup (If I'm missing something essential here, please feel free to ask; subnets and name are fictional):

Router: FritzBox 7590 (internal DHCP deactivated) IPv4: 192.168.12.250

DHCP & DNS 1: Windows 2012 Server IPv4: 192.168.12.5

DHCP & DNS 2: Windows 2012 Server IPv4: 192.168.12.15

DHCP Range: 192.168.12.100 - 192.168.12.200 Some reserved IPs for devices which have A record in the DNS Server. Some internal servers which have fixed IPs and an A record in the DNS Server.

Webserver: 192.168.12.60 Port forwarding to Port 443 is configured in Router, external domain on something like interal.company.com (dynamic DNS with http://www.nsupdate.info)

The DNS domain is something like company.local

Where I am now

I think it's a rather small setup, so I thought enabling v6 shouldn't be that hard.

We get a (non-static) IPv6 address from our internet provider: 2003:e4:feef:feef:e228:6dff:fe6f:56ff

And a IPv6 prefix. 2003:e4:ffff:ffff::/56

After enabling v6 on my machine and the router I ran into the first problem: DNS requests to internal hosts couldn't be resolved.

This was because the router announced external IPv6 DNS servers which were prefered by my DNS client. To resolve the issue I enabled IPv6 on one of the DNS servers, took the Link Local Unicast address, and configured it as static IPv6 address. (DNS 1: fe80::893:c9d6:bb08:f46) I configured this address as IPv6 DNS server in the router.

This fixed the issue, but I'm not shure how to preceed.

Questions

1. Why is the router IPv6 address outside our IPv6 prefix?
2. Should I be using a Unique Local Unicast address instead of the Link Local address for the DNS server(s)?
3. What would be a sufficient distribution scheme for local v6 addresses?
4. Shall I enter prefixed or local addresses into the DNS database? If prefixed - how are they changed when the prefix changes?
5. For the webserver: Should it have a fixed address after the prefix so my external dynamic DNS provider (nsupdate.info) can be updated by the router? How do I accomplish that?
6. What to to with the reserved addresses which have DNS records, how do I transition these to v6?
7. I didn't mention we are also running an Active Directory domain. Does this change anything?

I'm experimenting with Exchange 2013. After importing my mailbox using

 New-MailboxImportRequest -FilePath \\path\import.pst -Mailbox test

I get the message, that importging completed with errors. With

Get-MailboxImportRequest | Get-MailboxImportRequestStatistics -IncludeReport | fl >report.txt

I can see, that TooManyLargeItemsPermanentException is thrown. I have 4 mails, which are too big.

I saw that I can controll how many large items can be skipped by using

-LargeItemLimit -AcceptLargeDataLoss

But does anybody know what I have to do to import everything? I want to have those large eMails in my mailbox.

I'm horribly failing at exporting Exchnange Mailboxes to PST files. Perhaps You are able to help me?

The System

I'm running some legacy machines here. The one I'm currently working on (CurrentDC) is a Windows 2008 R2 Server with Exchange 2010 on it. Exchange seems to be poorly patched:

The Problem

After some trouble I managed to get the Export-Mailbox command run:

According to several Websites that seems to be the right command to export the mailbox of the user "marco" to "C:\ExchangeExport".

But after running the command an error occurs (I'm sorry, it is the german version of Windows 2008 - but if you translate Fehler with error and Vorgang with process you should be prepared enough to go ;))

Well, I must say I'm quite clueless. I was wondering why MailboxSize is 0 - so I checked it:

<UPDATE> Regarding to the answer from downthepub I tried to use UNC paths - no change. Also I tried installing the management tools to a client and run the scripts from there - no way, too. </UPDATE>

we are running an old Window 2003 Server as Domain Controller (DC2003). To safely migrate to Windows 2008 R2 we added a 2008 R2 (DC2008R2) to the domain as domain controller (adprep etc.).

After dcpromo on DC2008R2 everything seemed to be ok. The new DC appeared under the "Domain Controlelrs" node.

It wasn't checked at this time, if DC2008R2 can REALLY act as domain controller.

Later we tried to shutdown DC2003 and ran into a total mess with non functional Exchange and Team Foundation Services.

After that I got the job to fix...

First i thought it could be an Problem with DC2008R2. So I removed it as Domain Controller and installed a new Windows 2008 R8 Server DC2008R2-2. I ran into similar Problems. I tried a bunch of stuff, but nothign helped. I won't list it, maybe I made an mistake, so I'm willing to redo it with your suggestions.

To have a starting point I tried the best practise analyser whicht ended up with 24 "Compatible" and 26 "Not Compatible" tests. From these 26 tests 19 read the same. (I'm translating from german, so that may to be the exact wording)

Problem: Using the Best Practise Analyser for Active Directory Domain Services (Active Directory Domain Services Best Practices Analyzer, AD DS BPA) no data can be be gathered using the name of the forest and the domain controller DC2008R2-2.

I appreciate any suggestions, this really bothers me.
