I have issues using wget,
basically I use it like:
wget -m ftp://username:[email protected]:/path/to/dirs
After everything's complete (it says xxx files in xx MB for xx seconds), however, when I inspect the files, I notice it actually didn't completely download everything, am I missing something?
Recently one of my apache installations went down, and after looking around we found out that it's the apache's error_log and access_log size that had reached 2GB. Once we rename the logs and create a new empty ones, everything's ok.
My OS is Redhat 4 and filesystem is ext3. According to wikipedia, a file in ext3 can have up to 16 GB to 2 TB in size. Is it the apache implementation or is it something else that rendered the apache unable to start after 2 GB?

our Oracle database has grown very large as of late ~= 400 - 500 GB and saving to filesystem is not scalable anymore to us. We are looking at using RMAN to backup to tape (directly, not to fs then tape).
Anyone can shed a light on this please?
OS is Enterprise Linux (Redhat/Centos), and 11g oracle.
EDIT: I'm looking at a way of using RMAN in tandem with linux commands to achieve this, as the power-that-be wants a simple solution.
We are about to deploy our PHP web application in different branches of our company and I am looking for PHP code encoders as to protect our PHP scripts from tampering. I know that Zend Guard is probably the most ideal tool there is, but the-power-that-be wants me to look for other alternatives.
Have you guys got any suggestions or other alternatives? I have looked around and they all promised almost the same things it gets me confused =/.

I am trying to setup a local development box. The box's on Linux Mint. Installed apache, php and mysql without any problem, then I proceeded to install Oracle Xpress Edition as my newest project requires.
Obtained the oci8.so through pecl and modified php.ini.
The problem is, everytime I reboot and tries to connect to oracle using oci_connect() call, it will give me this error:
oci_connect() [function.oci-connect]: OCIEnvNlsCreate() failed. There is something wrong with your system - please check that ORACLE_HOME is set and points to the right directory
I've already checked the ORACLE_HOME at the time the error arises and it seems to contain the correct value.
Now, I can get around this problem by going to terminal and
$ su
$ apache2ctl stop
$ apache2ctl start
That's the ONLY way of getting it fixed (i.e. not sudo apache2ctl restart, not sudo apache2ctl {stop,start}, not su
apache2ctl restart).
I know this is a minor problem and I could probably live with it. But if someone out there can point me on getting this work, I'd very much appreciate it.
