I have a bunch of machines pushing data into a dashboard in Graphite and the number of machines is constantly growing so I am wondering whether is a way to automatically regenerate a dashboard based on the machines that are providing various stats.
Like, I don't want to manually add machines to the dashboard each time I add new ones - I want to have a background task running for this.
I am trying to figure out why I get some weird entries in my postgresql log after I do a restart:

First, there's the 2010-05-14 11:30:25 EEST LOG: incomplete startup packet which bugs me. Anyone has any idea why this happens?

How do I have vim and a console in the same window? For example, I am splitting up the vim window into multiple windows (vertically or horizontally). What I want is to have the code window on the left side, and the interpreter or console or whatever on the right side, so I can easily switch between them. How does that work? Is there something there for this?
Do you have a dedicated server for the code repository?
I am trying to convince my colleagues to switch from SVN to Git or Mercurial in order to make merging less painful and I am wondering if it's necessary to have a dedicated server for this (currently we don't). Also, there's another thing — is any of the Eclipse plugins for Git or Mercurial stable and compliant enough to use in production?

I assume it has something to do with a typo, but I am a beginner and it's hard to tell.
I am in holiday in another country and trying to ssh on a server from my home country. I think the ISP here blocked that IP/class for various reasons. Is there a way I can bypass this ? I can ssh on any other machine without any problems (well, not from my home country, but still ...).
I am wondering if it would be of any help if some kind of tools that does filesystem monitoring (i.e inotify-tools) would be modified in order to monitor/report back through ssh. Would it help sysadmins to be able to do something like inotify-watch 192.168.0.33:/home/deploy/script ? Probably the monitored servers should fulfill some pre-condition, but does this sound feasible?

I am running apache-2.0.63_2. What I did was to modify /home/user/public_html/.htaccess and add a Deny from rule and then restart apache with.
Any ideas? Any known bug for this? Did I do something wrong?
