I'm using ZFS on Linux as a fileserver running Ubuntu Server 14.04 LTS. The ZFS pool shares a number of datasets using it's sharenfs property. Outside of ZFS there are a few additional NFS shares which are defined in /etc/exports.

When exportfs -r is ran all the ZFS managed shares drop--zfs get sharenfs tank/set still shows the property is set, but until I reset the property via zfs set sharenfs=... the share can't be mounted by the client.

Is there a way to prevent exportfs -r from killing ZFS managed shares, or a way of updating non-ZFS shares without interfering with ZFS shares? As a last resort is there a quick and easy way to have ZFS re-set all sharenfs properties?

I've found that our current DNS SPF record uses the ~all keyword, but in most examples I've seen -all used.

What's the difference between the two?

I have a set of hard drives which are rotated for offsite backup. There are several steps that need to be performed when one of the disks is reinserted which I've rolled into a simple bash script. I'd like to execute the script automatically when one of the disks is hot-swapped in.

Ideally I'd have a list of disk-id's (/dev/disk/by-id/...) for the disks which should trigger the script; when one of them is inserted the script would be ran and the ID of the specific disk would be passed in as a parameter. As an alternative it would be good enough to have a copy of the script per-disk and have each script ran for its respective disk.

I'm running Ubuntu Server 14.04 LTS, and have been skimming similar questions related to USB drives and am looking at udev and hotplug as the two systems that I'll likely need to use, but was hoping someone may be able to point me to a specific succinct solution for my needs.

We've got an aging Dell T300 server used as a utility box. It's been dependable despite being neglected--it was recently found to still be running Ubuntu Server 13.10, with an uptime approaching 1 year. So do-release-upgrade was ran on it and was mostly successful.

The box had it's eth0 and eth1 onboard NICs bonded into an LACP interface. After the do-release-upgrade it appears that eth1 has dissappeared. The device no longer registers during boot, and does not appear during in lshw, lspci, or dmesg--but it's twin eth0 is still present.

I've jumpered the NV_RAM CLR jumper and have checked that both NICs are enabled in BIOS, but otherwise can find no sign of the 2nd NIC registering.

I have a ZFS mirrored pool with four total drives. Two of the drives are intended to be used for rotating offsite backups. My expectation was that after the initial resilvering I could detach and later attach a disk and have it only do an incremental resilver--however in testing it appears to perform a full resilver regardless of whether or not the disk being attached already contains nearly all of the pool contents.

Would using an offline / online approach give me the desired result of only updating the disk--rather than fully rebuilding it? Or to have this work as expected will I need to do something entirely different--such as using each backup disk as a 1-disk pool and sending the newest snapshots to it whenever it needs to be brought up to date?

I'm using Apache2 and named virtual hosts to serve two different dotcom's (exampleone.com and exampletwo.com) from one IP address. One site (exampleone.com should be HTTP and HTTPS, while the other (example2.com) should serve HTTP only.

So far I've gotten their respective HTTP sites working as expected, and I've gotten HTTPS working for the site it's intended for--however when I go to https://exampletwo.com I'm being served https://exampleone.com content and security warnings.

How do I get https://exampletwo.com requests to be rejected?
