I have Chrome opened in Windows Server 2008 R2 server. My coworker is trying to open Chrome in a different session, but is unable to do so.

I close Chrome in my session, he is now able to open Chrome in his session.

Both of us have admin credentials to the server.

Why is this happening?

Configuration: 32-bit Windows 7 development machine with IIS 7.5

I created a new web site in IIS to host only MVC sites called MVCHOST. The physical path to this website is set as C:\inetpub\mvcroot. I created a new v4.0 pool called mvcpool for this purpose.

I have given Modify rights to IIS_WPG, IIS_IUSRS, ASPNET accounts.

I created this web site with a host header "mvchost" and port 80, in the hopes of browsing MVC sites in the following way:

1. mvchost/mvcapp1
2. mvchost/mvcapp2

instead of

1. localhost/mvcapp1
2. localhost/mvcapp2

The only binding I set is the default one: http:*:80:mvchost. I have also copied the files iisstart.htm, web.config, welcome.png and folder aspnet_client from wwwroot over to mvcroot.

Now when I try to the browse this site from IIS manager, I get the following error:

This webpage is not available

If I leave out the host header and give some port, say 99, I can access this website at localhost:99.

What am I missing here? Why am I unable to access the web site at: http://mvchost/?

I have noticed that all of a sudden my RDC Connection Bar and the RDC Console (mstsc dialog) are appearing like their equivalent UI of Windows Server 2008.

I am on Win XP and here is what I see when I run the mstsc command:

The connection bar that should appear like below is appearing like the one in Windows Server 2008

When I connect to a remote server, I see the Server 2008 connection bar which is all blue and stylish:

Any clues, why I got bumped up to this?

I am trying make an uninstall app which removes an application X on a regular basis. The starting point to access applications installed in a Windows machine is through retrieving them from a WMI Class called Win32_Product. But when I run the basic command like this, I get the below error.

I have searched technet and SO, but either their workarounds did not work for me or were too technical in detail which did not make sense to me.

Please help.

When I grep in the etc folder, I get this message:

grep: ssh_host_rsa_key: Permission denied.

Since I am on cygwin, I can't use sudo or something else.

Please let me know how to find it out.

A couple of our recent customers have had their applications configured for HTTPS only. Currently we are using a tool which does a good job of monitoring customers' app-server state. For the existing customers, HTTP URLs also work, so the tool can monitor the health. But the recent one have only the HTTPS enabled so the tool fails automatically.

To this end, I am looking for a tool which would monitor the app-server state and send email to the group.

Simple monitoring like checking to see if the app-server is up or not is all I would need. But more features are also definitely helpful.
