I try to install Debian in a KVM-based VM using the virtio disk driver/bus and virt-install to run the installer.
However, it seems that the installer lacks the virtio driver. Once I switch to bus=ide, the installation succeeds and afterwards, I can change back to virtio.
Is there any way to let the installer recognize the disk so that I don't have to modify the VM after the installation?
I want to configure haproxy to bind to a tcp as well as tcp6 socket on all interfaces (i.e., 0.0.0.0:80 and :::80).
I was able to reach this goal with the following settings:
listen web
bind :80 v4v6
bind :::80 v6only
Is there any shorter way than this?
While I expect it to behave different, the v4v6 keyword makes haproxy bind to a v4 socket only.
For testing purposes, I need a copy of our LDAP server without any personal data.
What is the best way, to export this from an existing OpenLDAP server?
I tried ldapsearch and Apache Directory Studio, but I did not find a way to skip actual data (if there is such a thing in LDAP).
While not being officially supported, I want to run Chef Server 12 (12.3.0) on Debian Jessie.
After fixing Debian's systemd ego trip as described in chef-cookbooks/chef-server#86, it is installing and running successfully.
However, the runit setup seems not correct:

I'm not yet an expert with neither systemd nor runit, but here is some debug information:

Inspecting the status of the sv command:
# sv status bookshelf
fail: bookshelf: unable to change to service directory: file does not exist
# sv status /opt/opscode/service/bookshelf/

I assume that at some point sv is missing the path parameter that runsvdir (-P /opt/opscode/service) got supplied. Any way to add this additional directory to the "search path" of runit?
EDIT: Exporting $SVDIR (export SVDIR=/opt/opscode/service) helps me solve the problem at least for the current user session. Issue still is that sudo will ignore this, wherever it is exported.
We started setting up a vSphere infrastructure and want to use OpenLDAP as authentication source. In the vCenter, we have enabled the embedded SSO server and I find options to connect to Active Directory.
In many places in the Internet, I find descriptions to navigate to Administration > Sign-on and Discovery > Configuration, which is however not available in our vSphere installation (win3011 is the vCenter):
How can I make the SSO settings available, in order to add a new Identity Source as described e.g. in this article?
