So I googled the error and checked serverfault, but the solutions didn't fit. Most results were problems with /dev/pts, but that is mounted. Other results are errors with git, but there is no git on the machine.

My account isn't blocked, I can still log in on the console. Other users also have this problem, so I don't think it has something to do with something that's in my .ssh/

After this the session freezes. Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

I've got a server with exim4 and a smarthost in front of it, the use of the smarthost is mandatory, the university closed down port 25. However, on IPv6 this port is open. So when the receiving server has an IPv6 address I could send it directly.

So my question is, how can I let exim make a routing decision based on the IP-address, or try IPv6 first and if that doesn't work use the smarthost.

For monitoring and graphing of servers and services, I would like to make a setup where collectd is the agent, collecting the data on the server, and munin is on the monitoring server, collecting the data from the agents an process it.

Reasons for this setup, is that collectd had a smaller footprint on the servers and munin (v2) has a better frontend.

I was wondering if there's an interface for this connection, or if someone has an opinion about why I shouldn't do this.

I've got a setup with multiple supermasters (bind) and multiple superslaves (pdns). It all seems to work just fine, pdns is being updated when I'm adding or changing a domain. But, when I want to migrate a domain from one master to another, pdns doesn't like it. It tells me the new server isn't a master for this domain, although I deleted the domain on the old server.

Now, I think that part of the problem is, that pdns doesn't get an update when a domain is deleted, which would also explain a lot of dead domains in my pdns. It looks like the slave is constantly polling a server and getting RCODE=5 back. The master isn't aware of the domain and the slave thinks the master still serves that domain.

Anyone familiar with this problem?

I need some usermanagement for a serverfarm of +/- 30 linux servers. Normally I would think of something like LDAP, but we don't want to rely on a global server to which we need to authenticate, in case of downtime or broken connections.

So I was thinking of writing some scripts that synchronise /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow and checks if homedirectories exists. Including the posibility to exclude some users at some of the servers.

But... I couldn't imagine that I'm the only person in the world that would need something like this. So does someone know an opensource project that does such a thing?
