My 2012 Essentials R2 server is backed up to an ISCSI drive. Yesterday both disks in my RAID0 decided to die, so I am having to do a BMR from the backup. Steps I have taken:

1. New RAID0 logical drive created with two new identical disks
2. Mount ISCSI drive on my PC, give it a drive letter, and share the drive with Everyone having full permission on the share
3. Boot from 2012 Essentials R2 media on server
4. Choose System Image Recovery
5. Choose Advanced and specify network share location on my pc
6. Enter credentials when requested for the connection
7. Message appears with Scanning for system image disks
8. The list is then empty, no images are found?!?

The connection to the share is working as far as I can tell, if I enter an erroneous path it errors with path not found.

Why is it not listing the backup image?? I can see the vhdx files in the backup folder under WindowsImageBackup.

When a Client Backup starts on my 2012 Server Essentials, it fails and I receive the following error in my System log:

Logical drive 1 of array controller B120i [Embedded] returned a fatal error during
a read/write request from/to the volume.  

Logical block address 3573083600, block count 248 and command 32 were taken from the
failed logical I/O request.  

Array controller B120i [Embedded] is also reporting that the last physical drive to report
a fatal error condition (associated with this logical request), is located 
in bay 0 of box 0 connected to port ??.

The message is cryptic as it doesn't seem to know which physical drive the problem is on.

A disk did recently fail in my RAID 1 setup(Two 2TB Disks), but I replaced it and it rebuilt absolutely fine.

Every diagnostic I have run on the disk come back fine. I have used "HP Smart Array Configuration Utility", "HP Array Diagnostics and SmartSSD Wear Gauge Utility", and the "HP Insight Diagnostics Utility", all of them report both drives as being healthy. Yet windows still reports bad blocks when trying to run a Client Backup.

Is there anything else I can do resolve this issue(or at least tracking down where the issue is)?

Running a Health Report on my 2012 Essentials server reports a critical error of:

After the password change, the server running Windows Server Essentials has not received a heartbeat from the following domain controllers: my_server

my_server is the server I am running the Health Report on, so it isn't receiving a heartbeat from itself apparently?!? The Domain Controller and the Windows Server Essentials machine are one and the same... I am not sure how to fix this error.

For info I have not changed any passwords, so I am not sure why that is part of the error.

This is a new HP server, the original HP hardware failed, so I removed the disks (raid 1) and stuck them in the new server, the array was recognised and booted absolutely fine in to Windows. I had to set up the network card again but apart from that the server seems to be running fine(apart from the error above)

How do I fix this Domain Control error?

I have Server 2012 Essentials R2 configured with a regular old domain, and several Windows 8.1 machines joined to this domain.

I created a Windows 10 install USB using the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool and proceeded to upgrade my Windows 8.1 machine to Windows 10 Pro. This all went without a hitch, and as far as I can tell my machine is still connected to the domain, all mapped drives and permission are still working etc...

The only problem is that my 2012 Server Essentials can no longer see my machine, take backups, check the updates status etc.... If I open the Dashboard on 2012 and check my PC in the devices tab, it says it is unable to connect and that it may be offline. If I try a start a backup of the PC it says the same thing. When I check the properties of PC it still says it is running Windows 8.1 (obviously because that's the last thing it was running when it saw it last)

I have not been able to find anything online regarding this problem, in fact all I can find is people using the same process as me and it working fine(although none explicitly mention if Server 2012 is able to see the PC afterwards)

Any advice much appreciated.

I have been trying to find advice on troubleshooting this issue for while but have been unable to find anything which relates to my situation.

I am running PHP 5.6.0 on a brand new Windows 2012 R2 VPS. My PHP App was originally on another 2012 VPS and ran absolutely fine with 128 memory limit set. I have simply copied over my MySQL database and code to this new VPS, and I am now getting the "Allowed memory size of (whatever) bytes exhausted" error. It doesn't matter what I set the limit to, and if I set it to -1 it just eats everything and still errors.

Literally everything I can find online regarding this error either says to up the memory limit, or use some debugging tools that are only applicable to LAMP stacks. No one seems to have had this problem using PHP on windows.

How do I go about debugging what is causing this, clearly my app hasn't changed from copying it from the old VPS, so it must be the PHP setup on this new box, but I can't for the life of me figure it out.

I have tried older PHP versions from 5.3.28 to 5.4.24. I have also checked out my code around the lines it errors at, but there is never anything relevant there, and sometimes the line is just a comment.

If I open Task Manager and then load my site, I can see "CGI / FastCGI (32bit)" memory usage shoot up really quickly until it reaches whatever the limit is then my page errors.

Any advice very welcome.

I have tried IIS Manager and some online conversion tools but I can't figure out how to achieve the following .htaccess rules in a web.config file:

SetEnvIfNoCase Host my-domain.com  nopassreq

AuthType Basic
AuthName "Restricted"
AuthUserFile "/home/my-domain.com/passwd"
require valid-user

Order allow, deny
Allow from env=nopassreq
Satisfy any

Basically if the user has come to the site using my-domain.com it doesn't ask for authentication, but if it was my-other-domain.com or anything else actually, it would ask for authentication.

I have multiple domains pointing to the same cloud instance on Azure, and I need some of those to require authentication and some not.

This may not be the right place for this question, please point me at the correct SE site if not.

The PHP Documentation for the function ip2long states:

Note

Because PHP's integer type is signed, many IP addresses will result in negative integers on 32-bit architectures

Which is fine, however I am little confused if the version of PHP makes a difference?

I am running 64bit Server 2008 with 32bit PHP installed, and I am getting negative integers with some IP addresses. I am clearly running on a 64bit architecture, so this shouldn't be the case according to the (admittedly very vague) documention.

I can only assume that it's because I am running 32bit PHP?? But I can't confirm this anywhere.
