I followed the instructions to share my AMI with a specific account here: http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/sharingamis-explicit.html
I made sure the account number is correct, and when I log into the target account, I'm unable to find the shared AMI anywhere in my EC2 console ( Under Images -> AMIs ) no matter what I try to filter by.
How can I find the shared AMI?
I have a machine that has a few Xen instances running on it. I'd like to clone one of them but allocate more RAM to the new clone. How can I do this?
It frequently happens that I forget which remote packages contain the files necessary for something to install; I want to be able to search them for these files.

virt-clone --prompt
Now it's sitting in my /vm folder. How do I power it on (from the console)?
I never understood this, because if you have access to read a file, doesn't that mean you would be able to copy it somewhere else, thus allowing you to execute it anyway?

This happens sometimes: I ssh into a machine but I forgot (or never knew) what linux distribution it's running.
How can I find out? I'd like a general way to at least solve this problem for the more popular distributions - I don't mind if it involves several steps, but one single command would be ideal :)
