We have a bunch of Windows 7 computers deployed at remote locations. To keep things consistent and reduce troubleshooting, we'd like to reboot them daily and reset to a clean state on reboot.
Is it possible to keep a partition with a disk image that can reimage the windows computer ever reboot? That way, any settings and installed apps can be reset to a clean state.
Are there any products or tools that can make this possible?
Is there a way to log the amount of memory used by each process in linux? One of our servers has a memory usage spike that brings down the machine from time to time and the logging would really help us find the root cause.
How do you use apt-get to only install critical security updates on ubuntu?

I have several terminal windows open and would like to make the terminal session on the production server look very different from my local machine and staging servers to reduce the chance that I type something on the production server by mistake.
Does anybody have some tips for doing this?

You can use ec2-authorize to specify what kind of traffic to allow to your ec2 instance. Is it still a good idea to run iptables, or is that introducing unnecessary complexity?
