Where is the setting to display or not display hidden items on a particular folder? For example, if the global setting is to show all hidden files, how would I change the Desktop folder, so that the hidden desktop.ini file does not display?
I am looking to be able to change it programmatically, hopefully in Powershell.
What are the steps to make a schema change to a SQL Server 2005 database using transactional replication?
I'm trying to add a database column. I thought if I removed the article for the table, made the schema change, and then added the article for the table back that the schema change would replicate. I am now getting the following error every minute or so:
SQL Server errors
Replication-Replication Distribution Subsystem: agent [jobname] failed.
Invalid column name 'NewColumn'.
We have a business partner that is still on SQL Server 2000, and we would like to replicate a couple databases to one of our SQL Server 2005 instances.
The business partner databases that we need to replicate from are only updated daily, so we could certainly use something like log shipping, if that is a possibility. Our databases that we replicate to will be read-only.

I connect to a client's network via the Cisco VPN client. Once I connect, my local network access (including internet access) is disabled.
Is there a way to get around this, besides for them to change something on their end (because that will not happen)?

I'm using an online backup solution that does not work with networked drives or mapped drives. Is it possible to make a network drive show up as a "regular" folder? What possible impacts could this have?

c:\SharedFolder
but not via net use command, such as:
F:\
I'm interested in do doing this in Windows Vista (and pretty soon in Windows 7).
I'm pretty sure when SysAdmins talk about VSS they aren't talking about Visual Source Safe...
