I have a Hyper-V 2012 R2 server and increased its RAM to 32GB from 16GB. (for a small business).

1-2 months after the upgrade the system started to freeze seemingly randomly. Whether it was posting or when it was booted it would just freeze. I have done full hardware testing and nothing was flagged as an bad, especially the RAM.

I changed the RAM back to the 16GB but the issues still persist. I have swapped the mobo out and it still does not work. I have ran without the HDDs and the same thing still happens.

A funny thing happens with the RAM on the first mobo the RAM available amount fluctuates from 32,24 to 16 gb of ram available (it can see the full amount installed but not use it all). On the second mobo (motherboard) the ram mode switches from dual channel to single channel after a quick reset from the failure.

I have Googled around and found that it might be a CPU issue but I would like to get some specific advice before I purchase a new CPU (tight budget).

I have a pretty good (automated) MDT setup (with no SCCM) but when the client computer reboots, it asks for the task list that it needs to execute. I want it to keep choosing the same task sequence until the task sequence is done (it reboots multiple times).

How would I accomplish this?

Extra info: Server 2012 R2 Standard with WDS pushing the Litetouch WIM (x86 and x64). MDT version is 2013.

The task sequence is for deploying Windows 7 x86.

Win 7 x86 is a custom task sequence built from the ground up.

There are three task sequences available on the server.

I am trying to deploy Windows 7 x86 with MDT 2013 and WDS (Server 2012 R2) but it is failing:

WDS boots the litetouch WIM (32 or 64 bit) and Lite Touch takes over. I select the Task sequence Windows 7 x86 and it goes through with formatting and apples the install image (Imported from Windows 7 DVD). After it finishes applying the image it immediately fails the installation saying this:

The format secondary disk is set to continue execution if it fails (in case the client does not have a secondary disk)

I have a Windows Server 2012 R2 Installation that is used for everything under the sun including Network installation services.

I would like to have the server offer certain images based upon the users selection of the boot image.

For example: The user selects a Windows 7 boot image. The system would only offer certain prespecified images (in this case Windows 7 images).

How would I accomplish this?

Currently the system offers ALL of the images available on the server. This is not a good idea in my opinion because some of them are W8, WV, WS2012 R2 Etc. I only want to offer the W7 images to that boot image.

The reason I want to do this is because I would like to use the corresponding Windows Setup for each boot image. E.G. Windows 7 Boot with Windows 7 install image etc...
