After searching serverfault for similar questions without success, these are my numbers for one magento instance, running on multiple servers:

• After varnish about 4 requests per second hit the webservers
• The magento cache is configured to use one separate memcache server where I'm measuring about 210 Mbit/s bandwith usage.

Compared to other projects, magento and non-magento, this number seems way off (as in extremely high).

I'd like to get some data to compare to, or even better, if you have any idea what exactly causes this/how to find it and how to improve the situation.

I have this folder structure:

build.1
build.2
build.3
build.4
current -> symlink to build.4
previous -> symlink to build.3

I am running debian, what is the proper way to delete every build (=folder) which has no symlink to it?

I'm running "Apache/2.2.9 (Debian) PHP/5.2.6-1+lenny3 with Suhosin-Patch" inside a virtual machine (debian lenny, up2date) with NAT and about 60% of any http response gets served "incomplete" when serving requests from smb mounted directories (i.e. from the vm host).

My problem is, i cannot see any pattern which response when fails, because they kind of rotate. But what i can see is, that some requests like jquery ui always gets truncated at the same position (javascript console reports syntax error).

Only .js and .png files are affected in my particular project. The "main request" always loads fine.

I created a backup plan to backup to a NAS via UNC (\\192.168.x.y\backup\pdc) on our Windows 2003 SBS, which stops after 1 sec with this error: "The operation was not performed because the specified media cannot be found."

I think this has something to do with the user running the ntbackup script itself. When I execute the ntbackup command in my administrator commandline, it works as it should. If the backup routine kicks in (it is listed in the scheduled tasks list, where one can i.e. run it manually), it does not work. I read something about a SBS Backup User, who executes the command.

How can I change that or how can I give that particular user the right (aka provide credentials) to access the NAS?

Is there any performance difference between subversion checkouts and exports when running your webapplication?

We already implemented this in our deployment process, without measuring for differences (which feels bad. and is bad.).

Our intentions were:
a) dumping overhead (.svn folders and its contents) and
b) improving any directory traversing stuff

Do you have any experience with or measurements for this?
