I'm forced to work on an old piece of hardware: Foundry ServerIron 450
I have a host that needs to be in 3 VIPs at the same time: 10.1.1.21:3333 aka (host-a:3333)
The problem I'm having is that when I add the host to the last of three VIPs, it shows as "Active-Disabled" in the other two?
I would really like a sample configuration so that this real-server can be "Active-Active" in all three VIPs simultaneously.
I recently attempted to transfer a 3 GB file to a machine on my LAN using rsync -azvP. I noticed I was only getting 50kpbs. Both switch ports are 100/full. When I do an ifconfig, here's what I get:

I noticed: TX packets:864422049 errors:16806813 and collisions:20239785
Looks like I'm getting errors and collisions. Is there something obvious that I'm missing? My next step is to change the cable. What if that is unsuccessful?
How do I accurately observe and measure the amount of virtual memory utilization and activity on Linux? I know there is vmstat, but how do I interpret the results? Or, what is better?
I'd like to start-up Xserves at Unix run level 3. At least turn off the GUI and have all the service app (networking, ssh, apache, mysql, etc.) running in the background. Is this possible? How do I configure this?
