I can't seem to find it so perhaps there isn't a way but does anyone know how (or if) to add multiple header field matches to an Exchange Online rule?

I'm talking about when you create a rule and select "A message header matches these text patterns". Is there any way to add the predicate multiple times? What if I wanted to match an email based on two or three different header fields. Once you've selected that option you cannot add it again and it only seems to support one value for the header field name.

I cannot for the life of me get my Hyper-V PDC (2012 R2) to sync with an external time source. I have tried a number of configurations but in the end I can only get the w32tm /query /source command to show either Local CMOS Clock or VM IC Time Synchronization Provider

I've tried the following settings

Setup 1

  • Time Syncronization Integration Service enabled on VM
  • Run command w32tm /config "/manualpeerlist: 0.pool.ntp.org" /syncfromflags:manual /reliable:yes /update
  • Run command net stop w32time && net start w32time
  • Run command w32tm /resync /rediscover
    • The above command successfully completes
  • And w32tm /query /source shows VM IC Time Synchronization Provider

Setup 2

  • Time Syncronization Integration Service disabled on VM
  • Run command w32tm /config "/manualpeerlist: 0.pool.ntp.org" /syncfromflags:manual /reliable:yes /update
  • Run command net stop w32time && net start w32time
  • Run command w32tm /resync /rediscover
    • The above command always fails with "The computer did not resync because no time data was available"
  • And w32tm /query /source shows Local CMOS Clock

Setup 3

  • Time Syncronization Integration Service enabled on VM
  • Reg key HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\TimeProviders\VMICTimeProvider :Enabled:0
    • This is supposed to disable the moment-to-moment synchronization of the VMICTimeProvider but still allow the service to perform on VM boot (#6 Here)
  • Run command w32tm /config "/manualpeerlist: 0.pool.ntp.org" /syncfromflags:manual /reliable:yes /update
  • Run command net stop w32time && net start w32time
  • Run command w32tm /resync /rediscover
    • The above command always fails with "The computer did not resync because no time data was available"
  • And w32tm /query /source shows Local CMOS Clock

What is the proper way to configure a Hyper-V PDC to correctly sync with an external source?

This is my first attempt to use the Centralized Logging Service to try to generate some logs for a problem a user is having, so perhaps I'm not doing something right. I'm using the commands below to start, stop and search the CLS, but every time I include a StartTime in the Search-CsClsLogging command it returns nothing.

This is the command I'm running to start the logging: Start-CsClsLogging -Pools 'pool01.domain.com','pool02.domain.com','edgepool01.domain.com','edgepool02.domain.com' -Scenario IncomingAndOutgoingCall -Duration 0.00:15

This is the command I'm running to stop the logging: Stop-CsClsLogging -Pools 'pool01.domain.com','pool02.domain.com','edgepool01.domain.com','edgepool02.domain.com' -Scenario IncomingAndOutgoingCall

This is the command I'm running to search the logging: Search-CsClsLogging -StartTime '7/20/2016 14:08:50' -EndTime '7/20/2016 14:12:51' -LogLevel All -OutputFilePath 'C:\logfile.txt'

I run the commands in that order Start, Stop, Search. When I include the StartTime parameter I always get no results returned. The documentation says the time should be in local time, which it is, but I've also tried using UTC and that doesn't work either. If I don't include the StartTime I get the log file written to.

Am I running these command incorrectly? I cannot see why including the time continually yields a blank output file.

We currently have way too many users in our Domain Admins group so I'm working on redesigning our active directory structure and I'm looking at the current permissions and looking at the root our our domain (domain.local) in the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in I see an extremely large number of users/groups with different levels of access. What I'm confused about is that there are over 60 entries (multiple for the same group) that show nothing in the Access column and they are exclusively Exchange related groups. The same groups do have entries with values in the Access column

I'm just wondering if anyone knows why those would be there?

I've been working on cleaning up our DNS/DHCP and I'm about ready to turn on scavenging (it's never been enabled) to start cleaning up some old records, but before I do, I wanted to check something.

Under DNS > Forward Lookup Zones I have a _msdcs.company.local zone that is updating but I also have an _msdcs folder under the company.local zone and the records in this folder are not updating. I have scavenging set on the company.local zone and from the looks of things everything under that folder is going to get scavenged.

Should the _msdcs folder under the company.local zone be updating or is the _msdcs.company.local zone good enough?
