I have setup a small Apache instance and configured PHP with FPM. I am using the ProxyPassMatch directive.
Now, when FPM does not find the requested file, it will just print out "File not found" and quit, without using my custom error pages.
I have found no documentation around, about how to customize those error pages. Is there any tweak to the Proxy directives to handle errors? Or should I check that the file exists via a RewriteRule?
Maybe you already have an example? Thanks!
is it possible to have a user account in Linux that can only login through its SSH public key?
I thought to simply do sudo passwd -l myuser and lock the account (so I don't need to generate some random and secure password) and allow to login only through SSH public key. Unfortunately this does not work (log says: User myuser not allowed because account is locked).

I have some problems with Vstpd, and I don't know whether they are related or not.
One problem is that FireFTP can't get past the directory listing phase - it just stucks there forever, no error messages. Filezilla works, however it too sometimes gets stuck. In particular there are some files that just won't upload -- they too are stuck forever, sometimes a few bytes go through; here, too, no error messages server-side, and just a timeout client-side. Other clients seem totally unaffected (in particular Cyberduck on windows and Transmit on mac always worked flawlessly).
With FileZilla, the file I am attempting to upload will be created on the server with zero byte size, but nothing will be uploaded. If the file was already there, it will be emptied. I can also upload other files to the same directory, so it is not a permissions issue.
Is there any problem with my configuration? Am I using an outdated version? (It's Ubuntu 10.04). Here is vsftpd.conf. Using a self-signed cert.
Maybe this is a Linux problem??? Using Ubuntu 12.04 as client OS.

I am setting up fail2ban in Ubuntu 10.04 for various services. SSH went smoothly, but I have had no success with vsftpd so far. The problem is that I can't find a way to get failed login attempts to appear in the logs.
I see nothing in auth.log nor in vsftpd.log.
In the example here there are several lines which should appear in the various logs but they don't.

In the logs I only see successful logins, but when the client gets a 530 permission denied, nothing is logged.
I would prefer not to log the entire FTP chat.
