I have a question for an MD3000i SAN expert :

We had a RAID with 2 disks on a MD3000i DELL SAN. We deleted the configuration on the storage array without the disks of this RAID configuration plugged inside.

Now we put back the disks inside the array and we are trying to read the data on them. Unfortunately, the array didn't recognized the disks.

Do you know how to reuse our disks and read again the data on the array (can we somehow retreive the configuration applied to the disks and recreate the proper configuration on the array) ?

This also makes me wonder what would happen if we had a hardware failure on the MD3000i and bought a new one. Would we be facing the same issue and not be able to use our disks and retrieve the data on them ?

We are currently using a md3000i DELL SAN server with a RAID1.

I would like to access the information on one disk from a workstation.

The hard disk contains 2 LUN but I can only access the first one.

Any ideas how to access the other LUN ?

It is quite important for us because the RAID configuration on the SAN server disappeard and the disk is displayed as empty, but I do know it still contains the data. I am trying to retrieve the data.

I was backuping data on an 1Gb hard drive with DPM 2010. This disk died but I replace it with another 1Gb hard drive.

But I don't find how to recreate data structure on this new drive from previous protection group.

Protection group were red. I delete the disk in "administration > disks", now protection group are green but they don't save data and I can't see any menu to change the disk destination.

how to do ?

In exchange server 2007 when I receive a mail detinate to an alternate email address it just display friendlyName of the account in the To field but i'd like to see the email address it destinated.

A screenshot to better se what I speak about :

To field in outlook

Like you see, "To" field ("A" in the screenshot) always display Exchange Account it was destinated and so i can't know which email address it was sent to....

Since a little time I can't use Exchange Management Console on an exchange 2007 server because of a message which tell me that get-ExchangeServer return that active directory of my server is available.

My config is :

Windows server 2008 sp2 wit roles :

  • DNS
  • IIS
  • Active Directory
  • RAS

and Exchange server 2007.
