I have a non-comercial website in which the users store some sensitive information so I feel the need to have a SSL certificate, but it seems that if I don't have a registered company I can't buy a green certificate.

I have some related questions:

1. Is it true that if I don't have a company, I can't have a green certificate?
2. If I issue a standard (non-business) certificate that won't go green (from GoDadday, for instance), will it go red? Or will it have a less ugly display.. something more neutral that won't scary the user.

When we buy a domain online and build an entire company upon it, who guarantees that the domain name provider won't steal later on?

Is there any difference among the providers? Like GoDaddy or others?

I need to remotely administrate IIS via command-line. Is there a way to make my local AppCmd.exe refer to a remote server? So that every command I pass to AppCmd.exe would be executed in another machine?

I bought a domain today from a brazillian company. I have a hosting account in DiscoutASP that, obviously, gives me the DNS servers:

• ns1.discountasp.net
• ns2.discountasp.net
• ns3.discountasp.net

I just needed to configure my domain to point to these DNS servers. But when come to the configuration panel I see this:

Wait... Where do I put DNS information? I'm used to symply inserting the DNSs provided by the host and it's done. What's this? Is it an alternative standard?

My domain name provider also provides a tutorial to understand this but I can't understand where do I put the DNSs provided by the host.

All I want is to set up a server that works. I'm not interested in security now.

As I asked here, I can't even make IIS 7.5 to handle URLs that contain the word 'handler'. I suspect that it's due to the security improviments of IIS 7.5, that, by default, comes activated.

I'm studing it but so far I got no result.

Can I download and activate a a predefined configuration for IIS that is less restrictive?

We've noticed 2 very weird IIS 7.5 problems running on Windows Server 2008 and ASP.NET 3.5

1. Any requests that contain the word 'handler' result in an HTTP 502.1 error (timeout)
2. Some requests, which we didn't yet identify a possible logic, result in an HTTP 411 error (The request must be chunked or have a content length)

Aditional information:

• The errors only occur when our server is accessed from the internet, outside our network. Everything is fine when the server is accessed internally.

Please help ups, because we found absolutely no help on the internet.

I'm buiding an ASP.NET website using a rewrite module (UrlRewriting.net) and I plan to deploy it in a shared hosting environment (possibly DiscountAsp.net)

Do I have to worry about anything?

One thing that I'm concerned is about whether or not I can make extensionless rewriting.. for intance: foo.com/123/blablabla instead of foo.com/123/blablabla.aspx

I'm afraid of having a lot of work and in the end it doesn't work :)
