I made an image of my boot SSD using Linux directly to an ISO for safe keeping on another hard drive. Now that installation is messed up somehow I want to restore from the ISO. I know Windows 7 recovery disk has that cool "Restore from system image", but from what I have read, that only works with .vhd's, not .iso's.
Is there a way to restore from an ISO?
I have a command I am running produces a ton of output, I want to silence the output without writing to a file. I have used the following to send all output to a file:
command > out.txt 2>&1
... but again I don't want any file output:
command > /dev/null 2>&1
I have used command > /dev/null on my CentOS box before, but I can't find a similar thing for windows.
I have a ubuntu installed on a partition on my hard drive and I have finally gotten ubuntu to work just the way I like it. However, using a partition of my hard drive as the main disk in my vmware machine is really slow.
I would like to just be able to make an exact copy of what is on this partition--but in a vmdk.
However, I would like to have some room to spare on the disk and I want it to be a flat image (30gb or so) for it to perform even faster.
I am using Workstation 7 in Windows 7.
