I tried to install and enable mod_gzip on apache server and downloaded mod_gzip from http://sourceforge.net/projects/mod-gzip/files/
When i try to install and type ./configure, i get ./configure: No such file or directory
Even though other file formats are downloaded fast, MP4 files are downloaded / streamed at max of 160 kb/s
I checked everything that may limit the bandwidth but couldn't find it.
How can i make MP4 files transferred faster ?
EDIT: H264 Streaming Module is installed (http://h264.code-shop.com/trac) mod_bwlimited is installed.

My server's been hacked EMERGENCY
ZeuS backend controller abusive usage
We have warned by our hosting company about there is a botnet controller (zeus) in our server. But we don't know how it is installed and how to detect and remove it.
We haven't installed any thing in near past and no clue where that controller located.
It is a dedicated server.
How can we detect it ? Antivirus softwares like CLAM AV can help to find it ?
Actually I found these reports in server's mail queue. It repeats everyday i find 3 mails...

My dedicated server is centos with Cpanel. I need to upgrade python for eyeD3 program. How do I upgrade to latest python stable? From cPanel or SSH?
I ve been trying to connect my dedicated server mysql db from my computers localhost my code is here;
$dbhost = 'domain.com';
$dbuser = 'username';
$dbpass = 'pass';
$conn = mysql_connect($dbhost, $dbuser, $dbpass) or die('Could not connect: ' . mysql_error());
$dbname = 'dbname';
mysql_select_db($dbname);
I get that error
Could not connect: Lost connection to MySQL server at 'reading initial communication packet', system error: 61
Dedicated server is Linux centos 64 bit, php 3.2.4, mysql 5.1.54
Is there any workaround that ?

I am on my new dedicated server and i am getting this error always.
php version is 5.3.4
in php.ini extensions is empty and extension_dir is /usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20060613
how can i fix this ?

I checked that directory on ssh and it is empty but also extension variable is empty why it is warning me ?
I have a VPS with cpanel VHM already and i am now ordering a new linux dedicated server with cpanel.
Is there a way to move my old server (inc. folders-files, mysql, ftp and other all stuff) to the new one in an easy way ?

I am receiving email from daily running crontab which executes a php script. I want it to send me email if only it has errors or fails.
How to do that ?

I am trying to install a library called libtool
i am getting "./configure: line 2668: libltdl/config/mkstamp: Permission denied" when i do ./configure
how can i chmod a+x all the libtool directory to prevent this error ?

Almost once in 2 weeks,i am facing mysql data loss in a table. almost 600 rows are being deleted. I cant trace that issue.
What may cause this or how can i trace who/what makes it ?

in readme file it is written;
./configure && make
when i type this i get permission denied error ?

My goal in life is to politely ask you to run the configure script to actual-
ly generate a real Makefile.
Would you be kind enough to type "./configure --help" to see the options that
will suit your needs ? Please note that typing "./configure" without option
will generate a Makefile that will suit most people needs.

I just installed Godaddy SSL to my VPS.
but when I run php files on https , i get Internal server error.
what may cause this ?
I just installed Automysqlbackup.sh to my server. I wonder what cron job command should be to run it everyday ?
Note: i will set cron job from Cpanel
Path to script is: /home/username/automysqlbackup.sh

I just got my VPS, I login to phpmyadmin as root but I cannot create a database, I can't even see a link for this. I also want to change other user's permissions but I cannot find out how to.
There are fields on my server's control panel like this
Minute - Hour - Day of month - Month - Day of the week - Command
How can I create a cron job runs on first day of the month with this fields?
